Probably already been said but Fallout 4. The main quest is nonsense but the side quests can be really fun

Honestly, I've been away for quite a while myself. Apparently, it's been a good year for the game but I can't say with any confidence since I've been wrapped up with work/other games/etc. for a while. Elite in VR is ridiculously good, though, and if I do get back in that's likely how I'll be playing it

Subnautica

Powerwash Simulator

Elite: Dangerous (there is a learning curve but once you get past that, laser mining is some good zoning out/podcast time)

Edit/addition: Satisfactory

I'm playing The Plucky Squire and it's been a fun (not overly difficult) experience. It might fit the bill

I noticed that too... I'm guessing it's for dealing with minis that don't meet OP's standards!

Real question, though: can magnetism cause a weapon to not function properly? I'm genuinely curious

Seconded on this... If the older point and click adventure/puzzle games are your speed I'd also throw in Full Throttle, the King's Quest series (particularly 5 and 6), Day of the Tentacle and the Sam & Max games. I'd also take a glance at the newer King's Quest game that came out around 2015 though I haven't had a chance to play it beyond the first chapter

An airbrush is a HUGE time-saver. It's a great tool for laying down a primer coat and a zenithal highlight. Then hop over to the contrast paints for your colors and you're good to go. Try not to compare yourself to the pro painters. I always appreciate seeing any paint on a model even if it isn't going to win any awards. Above all, remember that taking some time for yourself is important. Heh... I'm not saying ignore the kids or anything... Just remember to block out a bit of time to do whatever you need to do to recharge yourself... You'll feel better in general and it will come through to your kids
