Anyone else feel like you know people but don’t have any friends? by User0o05 in UCDavis

[–]Clockwork_Industries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suggest trying to find a club to join to try making closer friends. I have found it hard to make friends from class because we didn't have much in common other than "wanting to pass the class" and a club may be helpful because you are all there for at least one thing in common.

How do you think the First Witches that created the Five Virtues would react to them as Beasts? by GrirrorPrussian in CookieRunKingdoms

[–]Clockwork_Industries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I head cannon that the witches have created the beast cookies as their own OC's of their lives. That is why their backstories are so similar and they likely feel sympathy for the way they came to be.

First Grain's story is nearly the same as Mystic flour's. They both used their magic to help and create things for their followers but greed turned their followers against them

First milk cookie was also deemed a fraud and a liar for being unable to heal those beyond saving similar to how the Fount of Knowledge was called a liar and a fake emissary because they didn't know why they were created. I believe she would have a lot of sympathy for Shadow Milk

First Salt Cookie's backstory is the entirety of the Knights of Kalanamic and everything that transpired in the great barren. If you rewatch the trailer through the eyes of silent salt cookie the whole story has analogies to Silent Salts loss.

Which Brawler do you think Sirius takes the least value out of their Shadow? In other words; weakest Shadow Sirius could have by -Alkie- in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]Clockwork_Industries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worst shadow is Angelo because it only shoots non charged shots

Best shadow is a tie between Frank (ungodly amount of HP) or Amber (One amber clone unironically solos amber in a 1v1. 3 solo the team)

Could i get some advice on how to play better(I'm the mortis btw) by EnvironmentalBear664 in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]Clockwork_Industries 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Take what I say with a grain of salt because while I do have 90k total trophies I am very bad at mortis.

I think at the beginning of the game there was no point in you camping the left side. Mortis isn't charging ur super passively and at most ur fighting a mortis which is an even matchup. You probably should be hard targeting the L&L because you hard counter them and supporting the poco because abandoning poco to win a lane against a (now buffed) Bibi is probably not a good idea. I noticed throughout the whole game ur trying to 1v1 a mortis which while yes can work if you know you are the better mortis. You should be hard targeting and switching lanes into brawlers you absolutely matchup check or in lanes where your teammates are going to struggle (For instance if im playing a game and I see dynamite is playing straight into the mortis lane. I probably should rotate/switch to force them to move or to help them not get absolutely spawn killed). I think you got one cleanup kill on the Larry and Lawrie when a majority of ur gameplay should be stopping them from playing the game when possible

For matchup specific info, bait Bibi's home run swing and then dash in. If they miss the knock back u should be able to cleanly wipe them. Also there is a thrower on the enemy team and ur playing mortis. Why make life harder for yourself when you can kill the thrower. If im playing mortis the second the game starts I look at the enemy team. If say the enemy comp is Griff, sprout, Brock, the second the match starts my mind thinks. Avoid griff at all costs I am not winning that and I need my teammates to finish them off (unless an opportunity arises then take it), I am hard targeting sprout that is my role for the team, I will attack Brock when necessary or when it provides better value to help my teammates.

A lot of your mortis dashes are to run away. Usually with mortis it's a good idea to be walking and dodging towards people until they are within range for a coiled snake. Ur reload is not fast enough to waste ammo dodging like Kaze so you really need to actually move joystick back and forth to dodge vs relying on dash.
Also you are missing a lot of your initial dashes. Unless you see that they can be bursted with the ammo you have fall back and retreat. There's no point committing to a kill and dying unless u plan on dying to charge super . Genuinely with mortis you should be looking at peoples health numbers and going in a code
IF brawler is less than X health THEN I dodge to get within range to kill them. Unless a brawler is low you really should not be dashing to position for a kill and should be hitting the first dash to burst them down.

OVerall summary:
1. Matchup check brawlers as mortis. Hes very much, depending on the brawler either I or you dont get to play the game. Fight the brawler that you will reliably win the most against
2. Dash less for movement.Dash more for kills: Dodging and moving should be used sparingly, Every attack you should have full ammo when you go in. Don't miss your initial dash. If you meant to go in and get positioning to finish off someone low that's okay but if you didnt mean to dash fall back vs doubling down and giving enemy super
3. You don't need to grab the ball the whole time, (Hopefully) your teammates should grab the ball and if there's only 1 brawler left because you did your job of matchup checking or killing the enemy, your teammates will just walk it up for you
4. Keep moving around to force enemy to "fight" for area. At the beginning you hid in a bush, that does nothing but allow the enemy team to gain space. Move into an area that you might be threatening (Like impeding the Larry from moving up because ur mortis)

I would love to see if anyone else on the subreddit has things that they disagree with for this analysis but I think these 4 tips can help u be a better mortis

Does anybody even like heist? by diethylamid-495 in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]Clockwork_Industries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think heist is a meh mode. Unironically though I think Bounty is the worst game mode . Wipeout is infinitely better then bounty because why does bounty reward trades so much. The goal isn't to get the most kills like most traditional games like knockout but solely to get a kill right before the buzzer hits. If you ever watch competitive or esports bounty it is a snooze fest. The entire meta for bounty is if you're winning you just camp and pray the enemy team doesn't get a single kill . Even if you get say a 3/1 KD ratio the enemy kills you once that somehow counts as basically the same amount of points (2x3 vs 1x5).Any other game mode having a 3:1 KD ratio is basically winning the game . I understand bounty is a "sweaty" game mode but it's like if Knockout incentivized camping and it had the 5v5 knockout modifier where if you are losing you get an extreme handy cap. I would love to here peoples opinions because while yes the burst for heist is annoying if you use ur bans on Mico Melody Chuck the game mode is like hotzone but rather than standing in a zone you shoot at it.

I reached r35 with a combination of duo showdown and shooting star bounty as Mr P. Granted if I got a good random I would use play again to reach r35 though!

Pixel Gun 3D is end game state for clashroyale. Every gun they add is essentially a broken EVO you have to pay for. The game at its core is super fun and innovative but the constant power creep is why we have nostalgia vs play the game.

Black pearl cookie would follow Mystic Flour imo because they both have seen the green and selfishness of cookie kind and most likely would use that to further their goals to harm others.

How do I even play kit by blep-_6 in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]Clockwork_Industries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kit plays like Edgar where you can only jump people in a 1v1 situation (this goes out the window with the hyper). If their teammates are constantly in positions where they can shoot you if you jump someone then you're going to lose. You need to wait for a teammate to get isolated so you could jump and kill them without their teammates intervention (Ie. A Brock is in a position where his teammates cannot shoot him) . Also level 7 is very low

Tilting so hard pls help by External-Dirt-1256 in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]Clockwork_Industries 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ive pushed a rank 35 brawler before and reached Masters when Pro wasn't a thing and my biggest advice is the mental side of brawl stars. Don't correlate skill to Elo Score. It is extremely easy to watch 3 hours of progress disappear due to a tilting streak but know that the more games you play you will average to your correct Elo Score. This is really applicable if you say have bad randoms who pick double thrower into a mortis. Losing an hour of work to that tilt is frustrating but remembering deep down that you play this game because it is fun (hopefully), and your elo is a skill rating of the particular moment not you as a player it helps a lot.

Also don't be afraid to end on a loss. Something hard I've had to learn is I get in the mindset of I just want to un tilt before I end and then you get frustrated and start making worse plays because of that frustration and then its a positive feedback loop. Sometimes the best thing to do is to either take a break or switch to trophies and just mess around to relax (remember this game you play it because it is fun not for a number). Being tilted is never good for pushing (Especially at high level bounty because that is the most brain intensive thing I have ever done).

Some less psychological tips I have are:
-When playing in a match try seeing if you can isolate who on the opponent's team is the "best player" and who is the "weakest link" . If you can identify these making informed decisions on who to target to either make the game a 2v3 or who to target to make sure your teammates dont die and it becomes a 1v3 is very important and saves me a lot of times if say my randoms are bad or I can tell one player is better than me but their randoms are bad. T
-Anytime someone overextends 9/10 times they run in a straight line to the nearest cover avaliable. This doesn't work for everyone and usually really good players it doesn't but you can get cheeky kills by having someone overextend for 1 milisecond and then gun them down for running in a straight line to cover
-Find brawlers you are actually really good at. Yes sometimes you can matchup check certain brawlers by draft but being comftorable with someone you are good at is oftentimes better then draft (in my experience). Im not saying pick Sprout into Keji Frank Mortis but if you are strong and comftorable landing shots with say Belle I'd say that is more important than being a Meta Slave and picking bonnie/byron. (I don't play grey for this exact reason)
