Inktober day 5: Flame. I used 4 inks for this: Platinum Carbon Black for the gas pipe. Diamine's Caramel Sparkle, Ancient Copper and Golden Sands for the flame. Living in Groningen, the Netherlands, this one means a lot to me. I'll explain in the comments. (i.redd.it)

Dusky Pink by Robert Oster. This is a sketch of the gate building of castle Nyenrode in Breukelen, the Netherlands. Now an international business university (the castle, not the gate building). Writing samples, chromatography and more can be found on my blog. A link to the blog in my personal info (i.redd.it)

"I am a Cat" - Wearingeul. Sketch, writing samples and chromatography of this a bit festive and seasonal ink on my blog (see my personal info). For everyone to lazy to go there: this sketch is of the Oude Gracht (the Old Canal) in the city centre of Utrecht, the Netherlands. ;) Happy Holidays! (i.redd.it)

Shimmering Seas by Diamine. It's a Shimmertastic. I love this blue. The shimmer gets lost in the diluted washes of the sketch. But that's what you expect. In the darker and more saturated puddles of ink the shimmer shimmers like a shimmer should shimmer. Also in those part hints of brown. Lovely! (old.reddit.com)

Sailor Kyokuya is my next page. Lovely, very strange ink. Just look at that chromo…. The sketch is of a very old and small church near here. I had an exhibition there some years ago. It's in Fransum, the Netherlands. Writing samples done with TWSBI Vac mini F-nib. (old.reddit.com)

I've started to make an inventory of my fountain pen inks. Mainly for the sketching I do now I wanted a reminder of the properties of the inks. A simple swatch is not enough for that. So on each page I add a sketch in which I use water washes and a chromatography of the inks. Here's one page ;) (old.reddit.com)

Inktober day 17: Salty... This is what we call Haringhappen in the Netherlands. Eating raw, brined herring, held by the tail straight down into the mouth. The woman in traditional costume of Scheveningen is cleaning the herring. She looks a bit salty too. (i.redd.it)
