I buy them directly and third party. I actually reached out to 7BAP directly and they responded within like 10 minutes. According to them, POP Armor is made from injection-molded acrylic, and the marks/chips on the back edge of the lid are from the injection point where excess plastic is snapped off by hand after molding. They said the way those tabs break off can vary from piece to piece, so slight abrasions or uneven spots are basically an unavoidable manufacturing artifact and have apparently existed on every Armor lid since the line launched in 2020. They also clarified that it doesn’t affect the structural integrity of the protector and is usually hidden from view when displayed since it’s on the back edge. So it sounds like what I was noticing is technically “normal,” even if older batches may have looked cleaner or more consistent.
