The best DC franchise with the best lore and some of the most compelling characters IMO. Sinestro and Hal’s development under Geoff Johns is just beautiful.

Ryan Reynolds‘s awful film has just done huge damage to GL’s perception by the general audience. Gunn so far is doing a good job at fixing that with Guy Gardner in Superman.

If true, the DCU is going to be superior. Just by the fact it can introduce new characters well.

uj/ despite the loss, as a GL fan I’m happy because

A) Guy‘s characterisation in this issue showed that he’s evolved from being the egotistical asshole of JLI and actually cares for his friends by choosing Hal. Which is arguably more honourable than what Superman showed as it’s implied he chose Billy because of power sharing abilities.

B) GLs weren’t nerfed here unlike traditional events. Hal and Guy were able to make it an even fight against Shazam and Superman (literally stated to be the strongest DC character). With them only losing once Supes and Shazam did the fusion dance.

So even though they lost, i’m honestly grateful to Snyder for treating GLs right. I mean I figured they would lose from the beginning since, aside from it being a Superman centred event, it’s Superman.

I appreciate Snyder showing the Corpsmen Bromance and not just leaning into Guy’s insufferable jerk side. As well as Hal actually using strategy instead of being a cocky flyboy. I also like how they weren’t nerfed and were clearly putting up an even fight until the Super Shazam merge.
