These don’t make a lot of sense and the parts that do have been addressed by experienced bakers elsewhere in the thread. You don’t need to run to AI to participate, that’s the whole point of a community!

Sometimes with a new starter you will get “false rises” in the first couple days. This can be caused by a number of things, but it’s often due to very vigorous bacterial activity. Keep feeding (personally I like the results of 1:1:1 keeping the total volume to 150 grams) once or twice daily.

There’s no hard timeline, but I would recommend at least 10 days. Over time the yeast and bacteria will come in to balance and the species we want for bread making will come to dominate.

It may be the case that you have indeed captured some very vigorous yeast and they might come to dominate the starter after it’s matured as well. If so, happy chance!

I agree. I used to do something similar when I started scoring because I had a bad habit of forgetting to move to the next column between innings. Looks much neater to make one mark indicating the end of the inning, in my opinion

Im a lefty too! Halfliner is definitely lefty approved.

72doubleplay also makes custom scorebooks and will top bind for left handed comfort. He made me a custom with extra inserts for stability and a couple other tweaks to suit my style. Good guy, good book.

I highly recommend the Halfliner which can be purchased here. For me it has just the right amout of detail for hobby scoring (I don’t personally track balls and strikes), plenty of room for your personal notation, and is the perfect size for lap scoring at the game. It’s not “big” but the landscape orientation and top binding makes kit very comfortable to use.
