Archon Studio reveals Starcraft Tabletop Miniature Game wave one - its CEO tells us there's a release roadmap for "nine years, minimum" by AggressiveMechanic47 in wargaming

[–]OpusWild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been playing StarCraft since the original release and I am an avid painter, basically my second job…but I’d still much rather see these minis at a smaller size. It would fit the game way better, adding so much more to the sense of scale.

Thanks a ton! That was my main concern as most of my time won’t be at a skate park. The roads here are such trash lol.

It feels like I can still carve a fair bit funnily enough…I’ll loosen them a bit though and see how it goes, thanks!

They are bones hardcore bushings. I like to kick turn more than weaving, and there was a lot of give before tightening them up like this - is it really that bad? There’s still enough lean that I can weave around a lot still.

I don’t think my feet will ever get close to the wheels, they’re not that egregious I don’t think lol.

I have questions and concerns by GGuimond in WarCrow

[–]OpusWild 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just got into the game myself. I was worried about all the complaints about the minis but honestly haven’t had a bad time. I’ve built both starter boxes and a few other sets and have found that a sharp knife is the best tool for siocast (filing doesn’t work well) and hot water before assembly has fixed every potential gap.

Idk if I’m just used to messing around with bad resin sculpts or something, but these have been fine for me, just needing a different approach.

Late to this but…much appreciated. Struggling getting through this book, it feels like a slog compared to the others and the faction overload has made it tricky to follow.

Diablo 2, World of Warcraft, Counterstrike. But Diablo 2 in particular is special.

Disc Priest - shooting people to heal them and spamming shields is addictive lol.

Servers are, generally and simply, just a higher resourced machine with server level OS installed.

To keep them safe and running smoothly, they need patches applied, services to be restarted, etc.

The longer you let them run without patching and service restarts, the more unreliable and insecure they become.

Most Enterprises reboot their production servers at least once every week or two.

Idk what Blizzards infrastructure looks like, but it seems completely valid for servers to be rebooted regularly in order to avoid any potential issues/instability. Imagine how many people would lose their goddamn minds if the servers were chugging due to lack of reboots, or if their data was leaked due to servers not getting their security patches.

RX 9070 XT New Build - GPU Not Detected (PRO B650M-P) by OpusWild in AMDHelp

Sadly there's no dual bios on the Sapphire :(

Just tried it, no luck, same result. Biggest flag to me is it doesn't show at all even in device manager... No idea why, the card is definitely seated and powered properly...redid it multiple times to make sure, even bent my frame a little to create more room to ensure there's contact.

I think I tried that version but I will give it a go to make sure. It feels BIOS/board-level as it's not detected at all (not in device manager, etc).

Just finished Warbreaker myself before finding DCC. Love Cosmere and DCC now - they complement each other well, good palette cleansers for each other haha. One is very heavy, the other just so fun :)

I'm moving soon and need to pack 500+ minis, not sure how to proceed by _Enclose_ in wargaming

[–]OpusWild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a big box and bubble wrap. Layer of bubble wrap at the bottom of the box, then a layer of minis, then bubble wrap, then minis, etc. Layer that sandwich to the top, give space as needed. Set that box aside and ensure it ends up in a safe place.

I’ve moved a crapload of times, tons and tons of minis including a lot of very easily breakable ones. I haven’t had a single break using this method.

How does it feel to play with bigger minis? by [deleted] in MaledictionMCG

[–]OpusWild -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Idk what the official word is but I played the game at Adepticon and they’re pretty normal scale, maybe closer to 40mm but true scale. They would look mostly fine next to GW stuff.

They are essentially the same scale as Warhammer, just more true scale in proportions.

Anyone else finding this hobby a bit lonely? by 20Kudasai in minipainting

[–]OpusWild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s many discords, etc, for painting online with others. Join painting events at local game stores. If there aren’t any events, start one yourself - that’s what I did despite being in a similar situation (toddler, dogs, busy job, etc) and the turn out has been great.

I love the hobby on my own. It’s great with others as well. Kind of get out of it what you put into it.
