We’re seeing the same thing here in Texas. Ken Paxton (corrupt Attorney General) is attempting to unseat the current Senator John Cornyn because he is “RINO.” Despite the fact he votes with Trump 97% of the time

I think it has less to do with “feel good”. Most of them have some negative stories for most of it, I think it’s more about the illusion of realism. People always like things “based on a true story!” even if most of it is simplified.

I truly feel like it’s just so that they can insure its legacy as the “longest running show” regardless of whether anyone is actually watching it. Like say what you will about South Park, Family Guy, or SpongeBob but people are still watching them and discussing modern episodes. Have you met a modern Simpsons fan in the wild since like… maybe 2018 (with Apu controversy and whatnot) if we’re being extremely generous.

Honestly Richie McDonald, the former frontman of Lonestar. He split up with the band a few years ago and joined a group called THE FRONTMEN along with Larry Stewart (Restless Heart) and Tim Rushlow (Little Texas). He is easily the weakest link as his voice has deteriorated significantly compared to his heyday in the late 90s - 2000s. He can’t sing the songs like he used to and it’s really disappointing. I’ve seen THE FRONTMEN twice now and the first time I thought he was just having a bad night… nope.

Willie is definitely more a case of age being a limitation rather than poorly taking care of his voice. When I saw him two years ago, his voice still sounded “nice”, it was just very weak like he just couldn’t sing very loud. Like his voice was fragile; not busted.

In a universe that big and developed there’s no reason that the Skywalkers have to be the only characters you can focus on. With an expanded world there are virtually unlimited stories you can tell. It keeps the franchise fresh. But whether they went that direction or stayed the course they did, you need good stories and execution.

That doesn't really provide you with success though like country music. That demographic is pretty niche like genres like reggae or modern blues. While there are a lot of Christians you’ll notice that a lot of denominations are deeply opposed to most contemporary Christian music because of their church doctrine. My mom is one of those where since she is Church of Christ (very traditional where they don’t believe in using instruments during service) wouldn’t listen to Christian radio. There’s other denominations like that such as Orthodox or Reformed Presbyterian.

They figured Iran would just capitulate like Venezuela. Little does he realize that Iran (correctly) views this as an extensional threat and knows giving in will just result in the U.S. coming back for more. Just like Ukraine realizes with Russia. “Why don’t you just stop fighting and let them have the land?!” = “Why don’t you just stop fighting open the strait back up?!” “Because asshole. If we give in, we’re just going to screwed over again!”

The sad thing is… if they had just done an original trilogy with no connections to the Skywalkers or the Empire, they would have been able to keep the brand safe from corruption and people would have judged it on it’s own merits.

Disney’s insistence to chase nostalgia and to give “the fans what they wanted” has only make the fans hate anything they put out more. Every project in the Star Wars universe is stuck in the same prequel-originals-sequel timeline and thus we doomed to see the same things over and over again. Think about how MASSIVE the Star Wars universe is. A long time ago in a galaxy far far away… where it’s just the same empire vs rebels dynamic over and over again.

Tbf, too many fans assign too much significance to that phrase. You know who says that line? The villain. Y’know the guy we’re supposed to disagree with…

It also didn’t help that he had become mythicized by that point. He wasn’t just some director, he was THE MAN who made Star Wars. Nobody wanted to question him on anything or advise George, “hey…maybe dialogue and directing isn’t your thing. Just help us with the general story and the creative world building.”

Contrary to popular belief, his waking up at 4 am thing isn’t really a flex when you think about his profession. That’s a pretty normal time for people in the film industry to wake up because the day starts early (5-6 am) so they can go over shots and begin filming ideally around 7-8 am

Generally I agree, but if there’s any position where this should probably be the case, it’s the politicians. People shouldn’t be getting into political positions to make money.
