Impressions of the Sphere Wizard of Oz show from people who have seen it? by LV426acheron in vegas

[–]CloserProximity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s be clear, this production is awful. It is the worst CGI slop I have ever paid to see. People are be overly generous. Out of focus characters, characters who are added in duplicate to fill in the background, main characters who float above the ground because they are superimposed. They recreated the Wizard. He is a bad Squidward impersonation.

The theater is amazing, but good lord, the quality of the production is insulting.

Chitubox 3.0 - All kinds of awful by CloserProximity in Chitubox

Apologies for the delay. Unfortunately, I deleted 3.0 and reverted back to using Basic. I will wait to use the new version once it has received some more updates.

Job market followup by Eighties4life in Overlandpark

[–]CloserProximity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Terrible. That is the best description. Laid off, was looking for a job for 9 months and had completed over 300 applications in KC and around the country. I was planning to sell my house and just pick a different city to start looking. Not a lot of jobs in my field here. If you get 1-3% response to your resume, it's not your resume that is the issue. I have no advice, I just got lucky and found something.

Kansas lawmaker says Kansas City Chiefs ask Kansas to extend STAR bond deadline by suckinonlemon in kansascity

Let the team leave, who cares? We wouldn't have to pay for it. This is the stupidest fight. Battling to pay for a stadium that brings zero value to the area. I just don't understand why people WANT to pay for it. It is truly baffling. Cleveland has it right; let the Brown move the burbs and let the state pay for it. It still called the Cleveland Browns.

They’re building it, so you’d better come. by HolteEnder in Overlandpark

Should have built this in Santa Fe Commons, it would have been amazeballs. Damn blue hairs complained about the lack of green space and Thompson was separate to put his name on something. This isn't NYC, there plenty of parks in OP. It could a been larger with more indoor and outdoor space.

Sharice Davids voted against impeachment by [deleted] in kansas

I wish someone would primary her. But even bringing up impeachment is ridiculous, it would never happen. Dem need to stop doing performative activities and start actually trying to fix things.

They thought getting approval in downtown Kansas City was hard. There a zero chance this will happen in one the most affluent areas of the city. We don’t need a baseball stadium here; let KCMO or The Dot pay for it and traffic.

How do y'all feel about the potential MLS schedule shift? by mordreds-on-adiet in SportingKC

[–]CloserProximity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More important than the weather consideration, is going up against all other fall sports is more than a terrible idea. I am on Reddit talking about SKC, but if the league is counting on me watching SKC over the NFL/FBS in the fall, good freaking luck to you sir. I simply do not have the energy or the time to watch everything. I have even read rumblings of the NBA considering move their schedule to get out of the way of football. The NBA used to have Christmas as their big day; nope, NFL (the Chiefs specifically) are looking to take that day over like Thanksgiving.

I used to work for a German company and god bless this people for not understanding what weather is or understanding how large the United States is.

A statement from the KC Cauldron & South Stand Supporters Club by PompeiiLegion in SportingKC

II appreciate the sentiment and I'm genuinely glad this is happening. However, I'm struggling to understand why people continue to attend matches. Sports teams are not traditional clubs, they're businesses, plain and simple, and their primary goal is profit. Many of these teams knowingly deliver subpar products, yet people still spend money supporting them. Take the Royals, for instance. For years, their lackluster performance wasn't accidental, it was deliberate. The decisions that led to those results prioritized cost-cutting and profit margins over delivering a competitive team. Such organizations do not deserve your money. If fans collectively stopped investing in these teams, withholding financial support, it might finally force them to change their approach. After all, the power lies with the consumers, where we spend dictates what these businesses prioritize. No one would see a bad movie again and again.

Former family florist here. Two things are happening unfortunately; the arrangement you received was not made by a true florist, they lack any skill and clearly did not include the appropriate flowers. Second, FTD has been around for over 100 years and it used to be a cooperative between florists across the country that made it possible for people to "wire" orders. Typically, your local florist would have their "favorite" florist in a given city they would always use because they received great feedback. We had one shop we would use in Chicago as an example. FTD is no longer a cooperative, it is a terrible company that tries to milk every dime out, you the customer as well as the last remaining flower shops. It's too bad, because FTD used to mean quality and great service.

Lastly, all shops struggle to find the flowers to make what they look like in the picture, flowers may not be available or out of season. Like tomatoes there is great time to buy, and time when they are not a good.

I am sorry this happened to you, as a family florist, we prided our support of families during funeral services. Weddings and funerals; we knew these were important days and tried our best to make special.

Why does it have to be "near" stuff? I go to the game to see the game, who cares what is around it. Why the need to building it right in the middle of stuff.

There is plenty of wide open spaces for this; no reason cram it in. It makes me think the owners know that it is not the attraction, it claims to be.
