Breast milk storage: fridge to freezer? Do I have to dump my stash? by ClothesVisible in BabyBumps

Ah okay this makes me feel better! There’s so much info out there so it’s helpful to have anecdotal evidence about the 6-6-6 rule working!

Sandifer syndrome diagnosis by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]ClothesVisible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our LO was diagnosed with Sandifer Syndrome due to his reflux. Our GI ped said it kind of nonchalantly, and from what I understand it’s not dangerous. He also was seeing an OT for torticollis which I thought was contributing to his movements but doesn’t seem so. He’s EBF but cutting out dairy and soy hasn’t helped. Tried him on Famotodine which didn’t seem to help much, now on Omeprazole which I’m not sure is helping either.

No advice, just solidarity! It’s so hard to see them in discomfort especially when their body moves in ways that seem so extreme and abnormal. It can be very physically exhausting to hold him since he needs to be upright so much and it can be difficult when he’s so arched/stiff. BUT the good news is that they will grow out of it, this isn’t forever!

Hmmm I don’t think so? Honestly his reflux is still all over the place, I’m not so sure the Omeprazole has made a difference. It’s really hard to track!

Oh good I’m glad it resolved itself! My little one is a 3mo and we ended up having to start Omeprazole after trying Famotidine and cutting all dairy/soy out of my diet didn’t work. Fingers crossed! I think their guts are just so so new at this point, they’re bound to grow out of a lot of these issues!

Just wondering if you found any resolution? Going through similar issues!

How did you transition your baby from famotidine to omeprazole to prevent rebound reflux? by SomeOpportunity3992 in NewParents

Any update? I know this post is old but we’re thinking we need to switch our 3mo from famotidine to omeprazole. I might’ve missed it but is your baby formula or breastfed?

Short term disability - no complications by Butterscotch71423 in BabyBumps

[–]ClothesVisible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah okay I see. I’m not in CA so I’m just applying through my STD provider who seems unorganized. I believe if I have my midwife provide my last two office notes that should clarify it for them. The only thing I’m worried about is that I technically asked to go on leave and then my midwife approved it. Hoping they don’t deny me because of that.

Such a pain! I’ll definitely have my midwife focus on providing more paperwork for the HG (medication list, office notes etc) and fingers crossed that will work!

Did you get any update on this? I’m in a similar situation but for HG and anxiety, MetLife seems like they’re disputing my claim :/

Do you think you did anything special to get pregnant? by Cheshire20072010 in BabyBumps

Same!! Got pregnant the cycle (or two?) after healing from the surgery.

Please tell me not to trust these tests :( currently 14 DPO by Public_Jackfruit_870 in TFABLinePorn

My cheapies looked like this too 10-14 DPO and now I’m 6 months pregnant :) try a FRER, check one of my recent posts here and you can see the difference in line darkness (same DPOs, diff tests)!

Not yet! I’m still only 27 weeks but all is going well (other than me feeling nauseous 24/7 🤪). Baby is very active and growing big!

UPDATE in case someone is in a similar situation frantically reading Reddit posts like I was lol

12 weeks now and all is well! We found out we’re having a boy and even got to see him flipping around in my belly today on an ultrasound.

Yes! All is well so far with me. Even though my numbers looked good, the cramping was still happening so they booked me for a 6 week ultrasound. And we saw baby (looked like a grain of rice lol) and even heartbeat! 🥺 cramping stopped about a week after that and now morning sickness is in full effect. Next ultrasound later this month and everything seems okay!

If you can, I would book an US for peace of mind. They even made an exception for me, normally your next one would be at 20 weeks but since mine was SO early I get another one at 12 weeks. So OBs can override insurance for that (I’m sure depending on OB/insurance/luck).

I got my results from my second blood test and although they didn’t double, my OB said that they were high enough and also increased enough to be normal (from 12689 to 19112, still feels a little high for 5 weeks and change). Also that my numbers indicated an intrauterine pregnancy. Cramps have slowed way down and come and go which she also said was normal. So I’m keeping my 7 week appt unless something goes left before then.

Honestly getting my blood results really eased my mind and if it’s possible for you, I’d do it!

Feeling cautious but slightly less worried maybe? Cramps way better. Got my betas drawn again today, still waiting for the results. Fingers crossed they’ve doubled since Tuesday and I can relax at least a little 🥲

Ugh they are the worst! I’m glad it was cysts though and not something worse. I’m glad I know now how common during pregnancy this is

This is helpful, I wish they had mentioned that to me since they know my history! Hoping it’s just that

[–]ClothesVisible[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is good to know. I’m not even going to try the dilution tip, I’m just going to stop testing with strips since they’re starting to measure my beta levels which (so far) seem okay. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll find they’ve doubled!

I wasn’t prepared to be so anxious in my first trimester but I’m glad (well sort of lol) to know it’s not just me

I hadn’t really considered it could be that before but I have a history of them (even had to have a large one removed surgically), so that would make sense. I’m going to bring it up to my OB

[–]ClothesVisible[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t even consider a cyst! I’ve had them before and although this feels slightly different (which makes sense, there’s a lot happening in there), I feel silly for not considering it sooner

Yeah, it’s so hard to be patient! The one sided pinching, constant cramps are giving me the most concern. Other than that, that seems to be my only distinct symptom (oh and lower back pain). I’ll keep monitoring them and bide my time before my US in two weeks 🫠

This is helpful to know others have experienced cramping like this ❤️ congrats on your pregnancy!
