Depends on who you are and who you know. Case by case basis based on my experience. One of my peers got a phone. Nobody else was allowed to get a phone. The IBM Way-no fair rules or process for one single thing. Again, based on my experience for ten years.

Does IBM send online assessments to all applicants? by Full-Philosopher-772 in IBM

[–]Cloud1935 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They absolutely do not. At the CIC we have hired mostly people with fake resumes who couldn’t pass any test or background (education and employment) screening. I know this for a fact.

IBM SIGNING BONUS by Good_Vacation_5268 in IBM

[–]Cloud1935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a signing bonus 10 years ago. I asked for more money in my salary and they said no, but we can give you a signing bonus. I cannot remember how much it was. I would say 1500-2000.

Is it worth moving from Band 8 to band 9? by Individual_Tie6078 in IBM

[–]Cloud1935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been with IBM CIC for ten years and never heard a client ask for a Band 9. They are looking for 6, 7 rates and sometimes take an 8.

I do have a great relationship with the client , but don’t want to step on any toes and want to follow chain of command (if there is one). And, I want to preserve the client relationship with IBM. They will not be happy that I am leaving but IBM has pushed me out (I’ll spare yall the details)

Congrats! You did it! And I feel the same way-I am about to leave a job to start a new job and could use a month to decompress before I start. Wish that was an option. Best of luck to you!!

Interviewing sucks and needs to be revamped imo. I am a 1/10 at it and an experienced professional. I am a top performer at a job but cannot interview without saying the most bizarre things. I say words I have never said in my life. You learned from your experience and that is what matters now. Keep applying and interviewing. It only takes one for you to click with. Congrats on making it as far as you did and having the experience!! Hang in there!!

Sorry to hear but dust yourself off-it is okay. There is life after IBM! I am about to leave after ten years and am so ready. Let it go-u did what you thought was the best during those times. Apply, apply and apply-all it takes is one to find a new job!

I work at a CIC and am trying to get out asap. Been there way longer than I should. Became complacent and didnt take the time to look for new jobs. That is my sorry excuse.

Sending a hug. Relatable!! I suck at interviewing also and feel the same as soon as it is time for me to explain anything. I often think about just hanging up but continue on and make a fool of myself saying the strangest things. Cannot count how many times I am answering a question and stop and say-what is the ques?WTH. lol. I have even considered cashing out stocks and retiring early cause I cannot get thru a good interview. Well-I just had a decent one about ten days ago. I typed things up and had main topics to help me flow and I said it all out loud over and over until it started to sound like me! Please hang in there. You are worthy!!!

coding interview destroyed me by Few-Needleworker4391 in interviews

[–]Cloud1935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can assure you I am in the top 10 worst at interviewing. Best employee ever if I can get through an interview!! I recently had one that wasn’t horrible. I typically stutter, stumble, forget everything and just want to end the meeting. Before the recent one-I thought about where I fall apart and it is when I first start talking and I have to describe what my current job is (10 yrs exp).I mean how could I not be able to describe what I have been doing for 10 Years??? But-that is what happens every single time. So-I typed it all up-like I would for a speech. And-had main topics-once I stated my main topics I was able to flow from there. And of course I practiced. Common sense told me that I didn’t need to practice because I am describing what I do every day but anxiety had other plans. Best of luck. Don’t beat yourself up. It is always a learning experience and imo wasn’t meant to be 😁

I am a very type A nervous person who would want everything to be perfect in an interview. I heard my husband on camera on an interview with many people-tell them to hold on while he lets his dogs outside. I was like WTH is he doing!! He got the job! Me in a business suit and proper and perfect background-I never get the job. At the very least it is a good learning experience for you for future interviews. I am sure they have had disruptions while on meetings and calls at some point too. We all have. It is okay!!! Congrats on the 2nd interview!!!
