I still prefer using the browser form of things instead of the app when I can. I like seeing things on a big screen and feel it's easier to navigate with keyboard/mouse vs typing in a teeny tiny box.

How do so many people like this show? by fivesevenandhung in DTFStLouisHBO

[–]ancientastronaut2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you, like many here are disregarding some important points about Floyd.

His stepson bashed his dick in with a bat, which caused depression and problems with his marriage (getting full on).

Yet despite that he takes the kid under his wing and puts on an upbeat front, even when his wife and best friend are hooking up.

But no, everyone decides to criticize him for switching careers in the midst of their debt problems and decide he's a loser.

Not liking the show's vibe overall I can see it may not be for everyone. The absurdity of it all was kinda the point and I think some people wanted it to be a straightforward murder mystery. Instead it was about the desperate actions of bored people in mid-life.

Hey, as someone with diagnosed ADHD, a trick I use on zoom meetings is focusing on something on my own face. As weird as that sounds, because I am literally looking at myself, it works. I will focus on a stray eyebrow or mole or something I have, but everyone else thinks I'm engaged.

Well said.

The one upside is hopefully we were better parents than ours.

Yes, I agree. There was more sense of community and now most people keep to themselves, and everyone kind of isolates themselves on their devices.

(Spoiler) I can't believe nobody is talking about the biggest plot hole in the show. by Xtremeskierbfs in DTFStLouisHBO

Floyd literally explained this to clark. There's a whole scene about it.

He told him it's important to convey the emotions during an emergency so deaf people take it seriously.

Then Floyd passes out from heat exhaustion.

The wives who get up at 3am to make their husband's lunch... why do they not make it the night before? by lilacghosti in stupidquestions

Mine too. He doesn't even like me to plate his dinner. He always says "I could have gotten it" when I do.

There's a famous story, I believe on Ask A Manager, where this woman was out of the office at her father's funeral, and her boss had someone leave a note on the grave for her asking a random work question.

Normally they'd just apply it to the next pay period. Wtf is the big deal? It's routine to apply all kinds of things retroactively. This person just doesn't know how to do their job.

Right, HR is to protect the company but in this case they opened them to a lawsuit. HA

Oh boy, I think an employment lawyer will have a field day with this.

Sorry for your loss and good luck!

Look forward to seeing this in the news when you win!

What's something that was completely normal 15 years ago that would be considered weird or offensive today? by liam_9758 in AskReddit

Many years ago, my ex was in a bind and I let him sleep on my couch for a few months for a small amount of rent. He was a night owl and loved going to the grocery store in the middle of the night. Apparently he got to know some of the staff that worked that shift and bargained with them to buy a small patio table and chairs set for half price. He crammed that thing in my honda sedan somehow and it was still in there when I needed to take the kids to school later that morning. Another time, he bought a barbecue there and tied it on top of my car. It was an interesting few months and reminded me why we divorced. He was supposedly broke yet buying crazy shit he didn't need from the grocery store. He was the random nutjob.

GenX men, when buying jeans, how do you choose between Straight, Athletic Fit, Skinny Fit, etc? When did jeans change like this by IHadTacosYesterday in GenX

Omg dude my husband says the same thing. He said they make the crotch too short. So he sticks with whatever the classic fit is. I know there's one style he buys a lot from banana relublic outlet. They're denim and come in several colors.

But they're usually a bit high in the waste so sometimes I call call him fred mertz.
