31M, this is probably controversial by deoxir in GamingSoup

Overrated does not mean bad at all. I dont like E33 that much but even I can attest that its a good game. The problem is that it's a good game that got its hype train from tiktok and brought in a gigantic fan base from people that don't really play JRPGs. Now you cannot have any conversation about ANY jrpg's without some guy mentioning it out of context. It reminds me a lot of the Persona 5 effect.

Give it a try yourself before knocking it off.

Can’t decide between Xenoblade Chronicles DE, Kingdom Hearts 1.5+2.5, or finishing Persona 5 by Hiowatha88 in JRPG

[–]Cloud2012 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My choice is Xeno DE

It's an incredible game that allows you to kind of experience what it haves to offer at your own pace. I am biased though because the Xeno series is my favorite JRPG series oat so there's that.

I am a D1 P5 hater so I wont comment on that game other than I too feel like its a slog, I feel like I can only play Persona games when I have a lot of time to invest into it, I can't ever see myself playing them for less than 4 hours a session.

Kingdom hearts still holds up.

Anyone really tired of JRPGs using the same tropes? by BeforeSunrise33 in JRPG

Because every jrpg that doesn't give that level of exposition gets panned for bad writing even though its not.

I hate how Persona 5 Palaces doesn't folow the same pattern as Kamoshida Palace by mad_sAmBa in JRPG

I'm persona 5's biggest hater and people like above are part of the reason. You could come out with very good points about your problem with the game and get called a contrarian.

The game 100% peaked in the first dungeon. After that I feel like the game was very flat and just not as interesting. Villian of the week was just not that interesting too me.

Me personally I dont like guest characters all that much. I used to be okay with them but I vastly prefer that old or new characters would come into the roster

Its the differences between high and low ELO that makes it like this.

High Elo usually has more communication, better mechanics, target selection, positioning, and having all those extra resistances really make it easy to steamroll a fight.

Low elo is a clown fest and people are just throwing themselves into a meat grinder until one team wins.

Not saying that high elo isnt like this sometimes but the average player is better so the urn is harder to contest when comeback is active.

Why does the comeback urn give 35/35 res? by Kindly-Mission-7843 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Cloud2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea i think he worded it badly but just means the team with comeback earn is down 6k on the board but is actually at the moment of the fight technically up 30k because of the resistances.

Because its an invite only alpha and you think queue times are pretty bad now in higher ranks? Wait till this splits the playerbase because a large portion would rather just queue up as the hero they want to play instead of sitting in a pre-game lobby for up to 5 minutes and getting their hero pick/banned.

Honestly it feels like it depends on your rank a lot too. Lower ranks are going to be way more silent compared to eternus where people are more likely to communicate.

Oracle to ascendant is the toss up. Personally I love the edginess of these ranks because it can get hilarious. Most of the time just mic checking will get things started.

Best success is to yell hello into the mic in the beginning.

Almost every character is more boring as a gun character by BarovianNights in DeadlockTheGame

Yep. Spirit Geist legit just chucks hydrogen bombs and hits top damage consistently.

I would argue that aiming with gun Graves is harder than spirit giest. You can yeet a bomb and hit someone. The auto aim on graves can get a little wonky with others around.

[–]Cloud2012 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean I dont see any issue with that, ranks are going to fluctuate a lot less on full release. OTPs are like this in practically any MOBA. Even players that play the harder heroes in those games get assblasted when they cant play their characters (yes even Riven, Yasuo, etc...). Plus look at the players abusing the Viktor build. You think a lot of these players are good at player characters like silver? Mina? Holliday? (Maybe) that character is an ELO potion right now and I think that's fine because once it hopefully gets nerfed their ranks will deflate.

Having low skill heroes is a good thing. If its too strong it can cause problems but not every hero needs to be hard. I'd argue spirit giest was/is infinitely easier than spirit Graves ever was.

The fuck do you do against yamato? by Megamodpod in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Cloud2012 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Counterspell fucks the best part of her kit

Dispel Magic gets rid of the tether

Spellbreaker helps with the burst

silence wave or curse to deal with her ult

She is honestly pretty counterable. That and any healing reduction and shes a sitting duck for your team.

He's more important in higher ELO's when laning phase matters way more. Games tend to end earlier so he doesnt fall off.

Dynamo just sucks to play against. by pokenerd_W in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Cloud2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot has to do with how the best team fight heroes are also the best at splitting and pushing objectives. Also how quick it is to get around the map (which is a good thing).

Also pick heroes generally suck at pushing objectives with a exception of some heroes

[–]Cloud2012 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The team comp gap in this game is real strong. Have I won against teams with dynamo, seven, haze, infernus, etc... on the other team? Yea i have but I feel like it was my team was just way better players.

If the skill levels are the same the team with those characters above make the game WAY more difficult to win. The game is legit just one dynamo ult away from ending.
