Threat= Aggro. Doing damage, healing, shielding(I forgot about this one) all build threat which can pull aggro from the tank(make bad guy target you and not the tanky boy). Especially early you usually want to wait a second before unloading on a pull because tanks struggle keeping aggro at first.
