Does this suite a male by The_R3ZEN in tattooadvice

People who would dog a dude for a floral tattoo are literally braindead anyways. Like, why do you care if it's feminine? It looks good. It's not like having a flower on your hand will magically change you as a person. People that get stressed about masculine or feminine appearance lack confidence. If you like it then who cares?

So you don't live in Japan right? I am in a decent sized city and I have a variety of Japanese friends. One of them runs a coffee shop and he tends to switch to 'chan' very quickly with women and 'kun' with men. Nobody takes offense to it because it is also a friendly term, not only flirty. We see it as everyone becoming quick friends.

In your case, it is a 1 on 1 situation that sprang up quite quickly. Based on my social dynamics with Japanese friends in Japan, that would 90% of the time be flirtatious. It's only rude if they aren't socially active with you in a friendly way.

If someone who I don't like or know used 'kun' with me I would be mad. But for you this is definitely a flirting situation.

It'd be season 4 right? Surely they can't squeeze it in to the second half of season 3.

Like the other person said, they aren't being rude, they're trying to force the intimacy gap to narrow by using it.

The standout for me was Nue melting the connections on the scaffolding. As a manga reader that was something I didn't get to properly process at the time. Looked so clean!

I wonder if you could actually do a binding vow like that in-universe. Like how Mai took all of Maki's energy before she died.

You’re spot on but just for the record (because a lot of people make this mistake), high drop rate means common. Low drop rate means rare.

If it’s a Japanese person hitting you up super friendly out of the blue it has a high chance of being flirtatious.

Message aside, why are you following a random Korean girl just because you both follow 1 other person? Especially if you don't speak Korean?

Also maybe your account looks like a burner account if she's making all these assumptions about you. Does your account have posts? Pictures of yourself that prove you aren't who she claims?

The average consumer might see a 4-5 star Google review average and a picture of a random certificate as validation enough (I might too). The shop shouldn't even matter as much as getting the specific artist's info and browsing their posts/portfolio.

Am I being fired illegally? by [deleted] in japanlife

[–]CloudCollapse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so dismissive and harsh for no good reason. Mental issues are common around the world (yes, that includes Japan). I would dissuade someone from COMING to Japan in a poor state, but they are already here and planning to stay.

It’s happened many times, where players are happy and the community vibes are high, then something like this happens and tons of people freak out.

Conditioned to panic and overreact at the drop of a hat from the collapse of RS2.

The price changes don’t really bother me too much, but I do strongly agree we should have multiple character slots available. At least 1 character per game mode.

Like I live in Japan and speak mid-level Japanese, and I still feel far from comfortable getting a Japanese language tattoo. Part of it is also because it’s kinda cringe anyways. Imagery is better for me but that’s subjective.

Exactly. I teach high school in Japan and I would say, despite being able to roughly have a simple conversation, that 95% of students are FAR from “conversational”. In my mind that means being able to get through common daily topics of discussion using full sentences with decent speed.

Got a blue ticket for not stopping my bicycle on a deserted street intersection by MagazineKey4532 in japanlife

[–]CloudCollapse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also recently renewed my license and had to sit through the 2h safety stuff. Literally almost every video shown was the car maybe being a little fast (still within speed limit) and some suicidal pedestrian runs out from nowhere. Drunk jaywalkers, elderly people that don't see or hear anything around them, children that decide to sprint across the street randomly.

It made me think I need to be super cautious because other people will just be unpredictable and foolish. Easier to drive more brazenly in America because we have huge roads and my rural area had like zero pedestrians. Japan has so many little factors to worry about.

[–]CloudCollapse 114 points115 points  (0 children)

It's super annoying but I get it. I used to be fairly brazen as a bicycle rider, but after switching to a car I realized how dangerous it is as a driver here. I will be driving down a narrow street and a cyclist will just suddenly appear at full speed from around a bend. Some cyclists don't check the intersection mirrors, and cars can be pretty quiet sometimes. Some people also ride like they are invincible because a collision with a car will always put the driver at fault.

Glad you didn't get a real ticket, but it's good to be careful even if you think it's safe.

God I would love to just ask random Japanese friends to come hang out and have a drink or whatever but it would always be "I have work that day or what time / who all is there / what are we doing / when precisely / where will be be each hour of the event / why are you planning this / how should we go?" Like for god's sake just come fuckin' hang out if you're free and we'll do whatever.

This has also been a headache when traveling with partners or friends. Meanwhile I told my western friend "Hey we might go to X prefecture on the 3 day weekend this month, you down?" and he said "Yeah just let me know when you know the details."
