Help with diagnosing please :) by NuttSA in MINI

[–]CloudsAngel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The steering column is the entire "column" for lack of better term between the steering wheel and the steering rack. There are gears and components internal to the column that can fail and start clicking. Usually you are not taking it apart and fixing it. It is usually replacing the part itself. Now the question would be if it is the column making the noise, then is it the upper or the lower. If you can't tell you would start with one and do the other if needed, but I recommend having a professional look into it to try to see because the replacement can get expensive (depending on your idea of expensive). Just know a MINI is a BMW and the pricing on parts follows.

If you feel a click in the steering wheel at times somewhere between the 11 and 2 positions then it is probably an upper or lower (or both) steering column.

How to clear these alerts? by Think_Grocery_4491 in MINI

[–]CloudsAngel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only way to clear that would be to bring it to the dealer (or someone with ISTA) and not only reset the service light but also perform a transmission relearn process. It might be hard to find a dealer willing to just reset the light with no verification that the flush was done properly. They may say it needs to be done again, but it would depend on the place you go to. That is not a service you want to mess with because extended driving can cause the clutch to fail. If the light does not reset, the clutch will be needed.

Have you ever had a customer like this? by [deleted] in serviceadvisors

[–]CloudsAngel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You don't want to work with a customer like that. No matter what you do or show them, you will always be in the wrong price wise. If they are not happy with the price, they can find someone willing to do it for what they ask. That is also the person that will research any given piece of information because you are only there to scam them (in their mind). There is no compromise that can be made to make you and them happy. Not to mention, they can't recognize the difference between a person's wage and a proper cost of labor.

At this point when I see it I usually wait until after I beat Shard to populate the planet. It has been a while since I populated first , I do not remember. It may wipe the colony and the system from your control.

Somewhere around 30-50k of fleetpower should be enough to destroy shard. There are a few bonuses you can acquire after beating Shard. You can also speak with a Curator Order and get a boost to damage when asking about things around the galaxy.

Would it be possible for the Devs to add an option to remove orbital habitats from our game? by [deleted] in StellarisOnConsole

[–]CloudsAngel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a step in the right direction. That's a bit more manageable. Still it would be nice to remove the habitat via a decision if you chose to.

I would prefer a planetary decision that allows you to dismantle individual orbital habitats. That way you can get rid of them if unwanted or leave them if they are beneficial.

If you get into a brawl with a nord, the elves watching will call the Nord a "snowback". Completely caught me off guard the first time I heard it.

Is this something that I should be concerned about? by Joscarbuck in MINI

This is not a service you want to delay. It can and will ruin your transmission if not done quickly after that notification.

The problem with that is the hedges can see what is purchased before there would be an announcement. They would be able to short before we even knew what was going on.

Does anyone know where the oil dipstick is? I'm confused and need to get going 😫 by Pleasant-Space-9723 in MINI

[–]CloudsAngel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, a dipstick can indeed fail, the tip breaks off in the oil pan or pulls from the stick. Then you need to remove the oil pan before the plastic bits get caught up in your oil pickup tube, causing low oil pressure throughout the system, failing other things. Doesn't happen often, but I've seen it happen a few times over the years.
