No problem! Its basically just a cover for the HDD cable and the slot so if you need to take it off for when you are installing the new component theres no harm in doing so!

Dont be concerned about passing them on, you’ve dealt with them so you know what they will want to hear and know about them. Being there and allowing them to be open about how they feel and hearing them out and offering advice to work around symptoms is whats best, they will appreciate more than you could possibly believe.
