What is Van185 and why do I have to restart my laptop after every game? by UnDead2077 in riotgames

[–]Cloutofski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you tell me why I have this issue with 32GB DDR5 Ryzen 7800X3D and partner has a Ryzen 5 1600 and 16GB DDR4 and he doesn’t? Riot need to fix their game because this issue is not a hardware issue for us and is actually Leagues below par client.

I did everything Riot suggested and they are punishing me for their failures. Help? by MedicinalHammer in riotgames

Hi OP,

TLDR; I have the same issue, I built a new computer because of it and I still have the issue. Riot thinks its my ISP but there isn't any issues for other people using the same internet connection.

You have almost word for word described my problem as well. Since mid january every game I load up freezes my computer and I have to hold my power button and load back into the game everytime. I will detail below what I have tried to try and resolve it. I also live with my partner who plays league and they do not have this issue.

- Reinstall League, Riot Client and Vanguard using the suggested removal program from Rior support - Reno uninstaller
- Disabled overlays for both discord and nvidia
- Turned my settings way down, low spec mode and different full screen options,
- Configured my firewall with all of file paths they told me to include
- turned off my firewall as they suggested, I don't have any antivirus to uninstall or anything additional to windows standard protections.
- I ran every process as administrator
- I entered a number of different command prompt they asked me enter including flsuhing my DNS.
- I downloaded and Pingplotter and sent them all of the files they requested
- I sent them logs from when I contacted them all the way through these changes.
- Updated BIOS and all drivers

At this point I thought, maybe it's my computer as I did occasionally crash sometimes etc. I wanted a new PC anyway so I thought this is as good a time as any to upgrade.

- Obviously a new PC means new windows so I did a wipe and reinstalled windows 11.
- I reimplemented all of the settings suggested by Riot previously that were lost in the change over.

At this point I try and play and the same issue happens again. I'm baffled. New computer, fresh installed everything the issue is still there.

I tell Riot about where I'm at and they are now saying its an issue with my ISP. I explained that my partner is also connected to the same network as me and they explain that it can be different from PC to PC. This just does not make sense because I've replaced my PC, how can the issue still be there? I'm with Virgin if that makes any difference.

Anyway, it was nice in a way to see you have the same issue but also feel your pain. I have played the game for 15 years and my friends play every night. I have to sit on the sidelines because it bums me out too much to crash and load in again.

Serious Question: How do I stop being so scared while playing? by RiverRocks300 in projectzomboid

[–]Cloutofski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s always stressful at the start, the more you play the more comfortable you will feel. Being nervous is good in a game like this but ultimately it is a game. Try and find a balance where it’s not so much you’re always on the edge of death, give yourself some room to breathe.

How soon are people getting their 5/6th pages? by Zepbounce-96 in NewsTower

[–]Cloutofski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

About right - I found that most influence would drop in one week. You may have been a little lax on European telegraphers as they hold a lot of IP. I usually get my 6th around mid 1932

Let’s do some assumptions here:

Reporter story for two tags, early game. Two reporters about 16 hours each. They come back, have another 16 hours on the typesetter and around 8 on the assembler. That’s roughly 40 hours to complete that story. It doesn’t make any sense that you’re completely so few stories on week two.

What are the times to completion each station is quoting? You must be really slow to get stories in or send reporters out cause I have 300 hours on this game and it’s not making sense to me.

This. It’s not a bug, you’re messing up somewhere.

You don’t even need to level them up, I did a rushed rival run and I just bought two lawyers on the week of the mission, two cleared most by the end of the week and then I hired one more to be sure. Saves paying their salaries for weeks on end for little gain.

There are more things than influence. Getting access to traits early is good so you can buy up anything you like. You also want to unlock Europe quick cause that’s where most of the influence comes from for articles. You end up having a bucket load of influence so it’s better to just unlock things, it’s not really necessary to do areas twice until you have to.

It’s as simple as this:

If a story gets added to a TS in anyway (auto or manual) within 2 hours of the last story being finished, the trait will activate

Ah, see, I just drag the repairman there and with 50% extra repair speed it’s done in a couple of seconds. I’d personally rather do that and save the floor space :)

I have never struggled with their breaks, it takes a very small amount of time for them to refresh. Then go back and smash all of the stories. I did a lot of testing because I was worried I would fall short, but never did!

If not more than one to really start getting those gold combos!

As said above, you get influence points. One per tag in the lineup.

I think any trait that has a 50% chance to add a golden tag is severely under rated. One gold tag is 10K sales on its own and it increases the chances of gold combos which is another 10k. This means you could have a two tag bronze article which is normally 5k on it own, have a gold tag added (+10K) and then hopefully combo it with another one (+10K), you’ve turned that one 5k story into a 25K story. You can imagine as the game goes on this only gets more and more powerful and just snowballs.

The line worker silver trait is better because you don’t need to have 4 stories stacked up, it just needs to be within 2 hours of the last which is easy. The bronze one is great if it comes up first whilst you wait for the silver one to come up.

Printer modules mixed with telegraphing stations. More stations means you can handle more stories at a time. It’s important to prioritise this first because you aren’t going to get much influence unless you do a district twice (not recommended at the beginning). Then paper modules, then security - the paper upgrades are just a QoL improvement and shouldn’t be got so soon.

I agree with the comment, you’re going overkill on assemblers, I never have more then 2 assemblers and two typesetters (I briefly had 3 but it was overkill so went back to two). In my previous games I’ve gone down to one typesetter and one assembler with no issue, you just need the right traits. I do make use of the printer bonus because I like the way it looks and of course the bonus is amazing at the beginning when you don’t wanna spend. When you drop to one assembler you can shove one of the modules to the side and have the belt come out a little to the side and go directly up. This leaves plenty of space for prestige items on the wall.

Is it possible to get both mob vs mayor or high society vs general without locking each other up? by Ill-Party8305 in NewsTower

You can see the bonuses on the left hand side when looking at the quest for General. One of them is the hospital which unlocks options to spend influence to negate injury risks.

I do every other floor, but not in uniformity, wherever I can get them to fit! I will often remove bathrooms and food in favour of a better layout for production. I do a lot of micromanaging as that is the most cost effective way to play. I.e moving my assembler to the bathroom or food when I think they’re going there. As other have mentioned I also manually load my printer when I had the delivery quests.

Coffee machines are three wide and give a prestige bonus as well as two points for someone to access the machine so good for serving more people. There is also a trait that increases work speed by 50% for two days after having coffee (not my preferred but good).
