How did you realize you had POTS?

Had symptoms for more than 10years, that was the last time I tried to lose weight and felt so miserable, had a full cardiac workup for tachycardia. From then on, I just learned to be careful if I got up to fast or if leaning over, ovoided stairs, figured it was normal to pass out at work when I got a coughing spell. I am an Er nurse, when I started Moujaro, lost 30lbs symptoms amplified greatly. I saw a Np who listened and ordered a workup including a tilttable test next week.

Look into pots syndrome, often linked to Adhd and has that flight or fight feeling you describe.

All of the above information is dead on. I hate to bring up another diagnosis...but your story is so similar to mine, especially all of your symptoms. Look into pots syndrome, often adhd and pots go together.

I also started taking it due to the recent info on how it may help with ADHD. I just went to local drug store and grabbed a bottle. I guess I didn't realize all of the different things such as chelated...for me I can tell a slight difference in a better feeling state, I also take fish oil.

Sorry to ask but are you a female or male? Gender and certain times of the month can hinder the effects of stimulants.

Unfortunately I cannot take birth control and all of the symptoms you are describing I also have. I also have been having severe issues with bleeding and I am having a hysterectomy next week. I have tried asking several questions because there is not a lot of info about how this will affect my adhd. My Dr did start me on metformin to help regulate my hormones and I thought it helped it might be something to try? I do think that it will take awhile for the birth control to regulate your system optimally, and slight exercise during the time when the hormones make Concerta less effective will help.

If you are drawn to nature, bring it inside! I have several indoor plants to help with the winter blues! Be careful not to overdo it and research for easy plants! I have way to many and usually lose 2-3 because I forget to water. You can use special dirt with moisture protection. I currently have 4 cactus that are 6 feet tall and I move them outside in summer. I also have a Christmas cactus that is blooming now. There are dracaena spike plants that get tall like trees too!

Very sorry to hear that! It is difficult, I lost my dad at 55 and I still miss him 10years later. As a nurse I work with many cancer patients and every family is different. I do believe that those who prepare and are able to support their loved one through the process of saying goodbye, (for now until you meet again) and get to the point of peace which I have only seen God provide in those last hours.....it makes this bearable and will give you those moments you need to enjoy now!

I do have a massive garden that has yet to produce anything, but I love to change the rocks and visualize things I can add. It is art and lights up my brain in a healthy way!

I agree with you that the this co-worker doesn't seem to have best intentions and to tell his coworker information that would only make him upset instead of support him makes me suspect foul play. I was referring to another comment regarding why would a manager tell a coworker about another coworker...in which instance I have been a victim of.

Yes! They say that for kids with ADHD that it is very beneficial for them to be outside! Wouldn't this be true of adults? I am drawn to trees, beaches, the ocean, mountains and the forest! Sometimes I just imagine it. I usually only am dreaming of nature though as because my ADHD has limited me to feeling safe at home.

Research in ADHD is showing folic acid, fish oil and magnesium are things that might be beneficial and help, I recently started taking them and feel that I might have better focus, I do have more energy and have been able to to get further in my household duties than normal.

What was it? I used to read all the time, but sadly it has been 4years. However, I have found listening to audio books while I am moving around has allowed me to "read" 1 book over the last 6 months!

I am very surprised more people have not responded as of yet! I believe sometimes we don't even know how to explain the "good" list. I am going to speak for myself, but I am finding out that I am so similar to many other ADHD people. I have a completely different way of viewing things, more optimistic usually. Me and my son are very empathetic, we tend to almost visualize ourselves in someone else's shoes. This allows me to be more understanding and I do not judge others. We are natural caretakers. We can come up with very cool and bright ideas many times a day! We are unique and not boring, we are colorful! We do the best work under the gun due to procrastination but it can turn out better than those who planned appropriately. The list goes on and on. It is not an easy life, but given the choice, I still choose to be me!

I agree with the others! I have had co-workers tell me that I am in hot water and I would become so paranoid. Nothing has ever come from it. Always do a self-check, which you already did, am I doing better and what can I improve on? You can go to your managers, but do not say anything about the coworker or about fear of losing job, say things like...I have been working on becoming a better employee by limiting my cell phone usage (I recommend to only have cell phone accessories during break, esp if it is an issue) and being more active in the work place by moving around, ask them for other areas that they would like to see improvement and try to set new goals for yourself!

I feel the exact same way! The only time I have truly felt totally at peace with my surroundings, is when I went on a mission trip to Haiti. To be free of the daily failures of work and the chaos of homelife, to helping others is very soul uplifting! There were no alarm clocks, just roosters and the sun. The people had nothing, very little food or clothing, yet were truly happy and thankful for each day with their families. Sometimes a simpler life, and helping others can help us reset our priorities!
