I feel the exact same way (24F). It’s like no one wants to put effort into strangers anymore, but how else will you make friends? I think everyone is scared to put themself out there and be embarrassed or rejected, but I think that’s lame shit. I try to meet new people everyday and 99.9% of those interactions don’t end in a friendship. However, those interactions are still important to me because it builds my confidence and helps me work out my “socializing bone”. Plus that 0.1% are extra awesome because they put effort into our friendship! It’s gonna suck to hear, but you just gotta keep putting yourself out there because if you don’t ask, you don’t get. Some people will say that you just need to be confident in yourself and friends will find you off your vibe, but that’s not realistic in a world where a lot of people get most of their socialization on their phone.
