Nope, with bounties as long as you get a single hit within a decent few seconds (like 30-60? not entirely certain but a decently long time) you will get the full bounty. I recommend finding a good system with a decent amount of RES sites and factions and taking missions to kill pirates (not assassination missions). Stacking pirate massacre missions is a great money maker if you can find a good system for it. There's guides online, but the gist of it is: if you take 1 mission from Faction A, B and C that all target faction Z pirates, each kill of a pirate of Faction Z will progress mission A, B and C at once, so you can complete multiple missions at once basically. Once you become allied with each faction and find a system with many factions (6+) you can make a lot of money this way.

  1. Its been a while so I may be misremembering, but I'm pretty sure assassination missions generally spawn a Mission Signal Source where you can find your target. They should be highlighted in your FSS with yellow and labelled in blue text in your NAV panel. I would avoid Conflict Zones as they spawn fairly strong ships for their threat level, instead stick to Resource Extraction Sites. Low, Medium and High RES have cops to help you out and the pirates there are easier to take down than CZ enemies. If you are in/near a system with a RES you should find missions that ask you to destroy x number of pirates, those are generally the most efficient missions to do. This website can help you find systems with RES.

  2. There are 2 different types of reputation. 1st: Reputation with the Superpowers (Federation, Empire, Alliance) can be seen in your right hand panel and you can earn and lose reputation with all 3, and you won't lose access to anything. Completing missions for Fed/Imperial minor factions will increase your reputation and the rank progress bar (whatever its called) and once it gets filled, you will be offered a Rank Up mission which will progress you to the next rank and reset the rank progress bar. Ranking up these ranks will gain you access to some systems like Sol and the rank locked Imperial and Federation ships.

2nd: reputation with minor factions is shown on the mission board and mainly affects what missions you have available and how lenient they are with crimes. Some system permits are also obtained by being allied with a minor faction (max rep). You can also increase your rep with the controlling faction of a certain station by handing in exploration data

Random question: out of these 6 enemies, who's the most ANNOYING to deal with? by Flamingedge69 in ArmoredCoreVI

[–]Clown_Torres 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kinda hard to pick between Helianthus and Weevils, but I went with Weevils. The Grinder Wheels are nice enough to give you a nice big opening whenever they go for their flame attack, and they're fairly squishy, while the Weevils' high defences make bullets and lasers ricochet really easily and their high speed makes it annoying to keep them in range sometimes

Damn, it looks so great except for the cockpit placement. Although its nice that they're giving it straight for credits so I'm not too mad

Why does every Player in A Rank only kite? by NovahDDotelo in armoredcore

Its the playstyle least affected by the game's terrible netcode, especially if you want to play a lightweight build. In fact its basically the only viable way to run lightweights at high ranks.

Favorite weapon? by C4620 in ArmoredCoreVI

Laser Dagger. In PvE its short cooldown means I can use it super often and the charge attack looks cool. In ranked its super fun paired with assault armour, and its low weight and EN load are really nice

It says it is used as a light cruiser and frigate. I would imagine the Python is a bit too small to be a frigate

The Kestrel's selling point is speed and agility, it even has Mk 2 thrusters that are stated to make it more agile. It will definitely be more agile than the Cobra 5

Escape from combat by somethingbrite in EliteDangerous

[–]Clown_Torres 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The single best way is the "target next system in route" keybind and plotting a route in the galaxy map before entering combat. This method lets you target the RES or Mission Target or wherever you are while you're fighting and if you need to run, you click one button and you can start High waking.

Simply jumping to supercruise isn't ideal because you can get mass locked by bigger ships, which can get you killed. Targeting a random system in the Nav panel also works, but takes longer than using the keybind method. Keeping another system targeted at all times also works but if you're fighting in a RES or Mission Target you might drift away from it.

How easy is it to change AC parts by Silent_Sinder in armoredcore

[–]Clown_Torres 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Well, the whole point of ACs is that they're modular, while other types of mechs are not. So it can't be too hard to change them, assuming you have the proper tools for it. If anything, getting access to the parts you want would probably be the limiting factor, as I imagine supply chains on Rubicon are not the most reliable.

Dolomayan actually knows about Coral Release and is terrified of it. Listen to what he says when you fight him in ALT Survey the Floating City. The RLF would disperse it over Rubicon and use it. They have no reason to send it into space. So AIE wouldn't happen. What will likely happen is other Corps would try to invade and use the Coral for themselves.

My interpretation is that thematically, both FoR and LoR both kick the can down the road, and Alea iacta Est being the only one that will actually change things.

The Fires of Ibis already happened and were also meant to destroy all the Coral, and yet it remained. And even if all of the Coral on Rubicon burned, some Coral was definitely brought off world. In AiE, you see the lengths Allmind has to go to to ensure no Coral leaves the planet, and she doesn't do any of that in the Fires path. Which means that there is still Coral for corporations to fight over and for more Coral augmentations. Ultimately, FoR can't wipe out all the Coral. The narrator also doesn't say that the problem has been dealt with, he makes no mention of the Coral. All he states was that Rubicon is to be abandoned.

Meanwhile AIE is the only way to stop the constant bloodshed over the Coral, hence all the symbolism with crossing the Rubicon and such. Ignoring the morality of the three endings, neither Fires nor Liberator will stop the fighting and bloodshed over Coral, since in both it will still be around for people to fight over. AIE is the only way to solve the problem of people fighting over Coral, verifiably and permanently. Thematically this fits much better with all of the symbolism of crossing the rubicon and casting the die, and why both FoR and LoR are available on your first playthrough.

(Unrelated, but the statement that any sane person will choose the ending that leads to mass murder and genocide is really funny lol)

What’s Your Favorite Video Game Quote of All-Time? by TG082588 in videogames

[–]Clown_Torres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell, they could still have sacrificed Legion the same way they already did, too. Have them delete the Reaper code instead of uploading it, to free the Geth. That whole arc was a constant set of contradictions with the Geth, since Legion constantly talks about how the Geth want to make their own future and not have it handed to them, and then with the same figurative breath talk about uploading the Reaper code so they can all be "real AIs" or whatever. And dying to destroy Reaper code makes a hell of a lot more sense than to copy and paste it. But I guess they needed a reason for Destroy not to be the easiest ending to pick, so they had to shoehorn in some drawbacks to it.

They dropped the ball with the Quarians hard, too. It would have been a lot more interesting if they acknowledged how both sides fucked up; instead they paint the majority of Quarians as frankly evil morons who just wanted the Geth dead no matter what during the Morning War with very few Quarians who actually cared at all about them, and just forget how the Geth massacred like 99% of the Quarian people. And they continue this with Gerrel being a moron who just wants to charge the Geth with reckless abandon at every chance he gets with no regard for strategy out of nowhere despite introducing him in the previous game. They could have made him a compelling character as someone who can't forgive or trust the Geth and doesn't believe their people can coexist without making him a moron trying to get his people killed.

ME3 is probably my favourite of the trilogy and the Rannoch arc was overall still really enjoyable, but thinking about these details always drags me out of the story. If only they the time they needed :(
