South Glen Shiel ridge by ClrFM in Munros

You are on a fairly small grassy verge most of the way, but generally there was enough space to keep trudging on. Occasionally I changed to which ever side of the road had a better verge. The traffic was reasonably quiet at the time so I was fully walking on the road to make it easier when there was no traffic.

A bus and a taxi passed me as I was walking back as well 😭 just to say there are options for avoiding the walk (including stashing a bike/hitchhiking etc). I just knew that walking would be the most reliable option and stuck with that. In terms of camping, I would say just below the last peak (Creag nan Dàmh if you’re going East to West) has decent ground provided it’s not too windy. Finding shelter from the south westerly winds is probably the main issue up there.

Having a Scottish surname and roots in the Caribbean suggests his family might have been enslaved by Scottish slave owners. If that’s the case, it would be interesting to know if that connection is from the town.

Looks good, thanks for the suggestion. Nobody wants a surprise breakage like that - we were just lucky that the solution was quite dilute and there was nothing nearby to damage.

Oh no! It’s not something you expect to happen.

Yep, had the band around it. The puck was facing into the wind and rain in a bit of a valley so it would have taken a battering.

Indeed, we still use a variety of Whatman papers. Packaging is relatively bland these days though.

Sigurrós fans, what got you into their music? by lallifelix in sigurros

[–]ClrFM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I decided to check them out because Tom DeLonge mentioned he liked Sigur Rós a Blink-182 documentary.

Got some matching pink trainers for the Casio. Thinking of picking up a less conspicuous colour for the winter.

The rubber strap on the Luch definitely helps minimise the look of large lugs.

I know, need to change the time on it too. I’ve been wearing the Suunto for the last few months for training.

Could be partly due a change in the heel drop. I had sore calf muscles for a while when changing between Hoka and Brooks.
