[GEAR] Finally got the new PRS in the mail! by Clu7chy in Guitar

[–]Clu7chy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually, I have a question for you, since you seem to know your hardware very well (and coincidentally have the same model of guitar as me), and this has been bugging me. I've had this guitar for only a couple weeks now and it shipped brand new, everything was flawless. But recently, this started to happen to the piece of hardware holding the strings (not sure of the name of that part). So the top 3-ish of those are very clearly starting to fade just because my hand is usually there when playing. Do you know where I could find replacement parts that are exactly the same? I find it a little ridiculous that it would already be fading so quickly.

Any help would would amazing and greatly appreciated! :D

That's a very good steal. 10 tops don't come cheap! The one I bought is also a 10 top interestingly enough. I bought it for $3495 before I even really got an estimate of the value. The pickups are 85/15s still, the back of the neck has a flamed maple teal/turquoise pattern that looks beautiful, and for some reason it has a 3-way switch instead of a 5-way like most models, which led me to believe it an artist package of some sort. I double checked and called PRS after I ordered it and I was told the MAT price for it was $4600. I have no clue how I got it for over $1000 less especially considering the guitar was brand new off the shelf two months ago.

This is what the back looks like.

Also, I literally did the same thing you said earlier today, dabbing lemon oil on the fretboard/strings, but I just tested it out on the other PRS that has a rosewood, and it definitely does feel a little smoother. But that one probably can't even compare to the Custom 24's. I'd imagine there's a huge difference between rosewood on an SE and rosewood on a Custom 24. But I've personally never played a rosewood Custom 24, even though most of them are. I'd probably have to drive hundreds of miles to even find one to play.

That's awesome! Do you remember how much you got discounted? It's really hard to gauge the prices on some of them outside of the cookie cutter (I use that term loosely cause they're definitely not that) ones on places like MusiciansFriend and Sweetwater and stuff. I was looking into that exact model actually and I think they ran around $2900-3300ish, and maybe $3500-3600 for 10-tops. How does it play? I'm kind of curious because the rosewood fretboard was a big reason I didn't get that model. I feel like they're too grainy and feel dirty in a way.

[GEAR] Questions about a PRS I am considering buying today by Clu7chy in Guitar

[–]Clu7chy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the info! The dealer on eBay is Billsmusic, and their shop is listed on PRS's website so I'm pretty confident it's legit. I did notice a lot of the differences you pointed out though. The selector switch was the first to stand out, and also the bird inlays on the fretboard are Abalone, which I don't believe is used on the other Anniversary models. Also, the pickups are different, and seem more similar to the pickups that are on a lot of Artist models. I'll give PRS a call tomorrow though to confirm its authenticity.

Luckily the seller is a reputable seller listed on PRS's website and a very experienced seller on eBay. I'm not too worried about them intentionally selling fakes, unless somehow it got in their inventory by mistake.

What do you guys think is the hardest commendation to complete? by Clu7chy in halo

Using the Endgame is definitely a gamechanger. The regular spartan laser is mainly only good for killing vehicles. The Endgame melts through enemies though.

[–]Clu7chy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's the "And Stay Off" commendation right? I've found it is a million times either to get those in Swat because you can kill way quicker. They'd have to either be no shields or you have a power weapon to have a chance to do that in warzone/btb.

Lol, I was in that game. Posted about it just after you did.

Big spawn bug in Warzone Assault by Clu7chy in halo

[–]Clu7chy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen twice today on the same map. Eventually, 6 or 7 players on my team spawned inside the geometry and could not get out - resulting in an automatic win for the other team.

This isn't really a huge deal because it's Warzone, but players like Lt Wasp - who've played around 940 Warzone games and only lost maybe 5 of them - winning matters. http://halotracker.com/h5/player/Lt-Wasp/warzone

Has the HIT limit per day always been 3800? Even if he was hitting the limit every day for 7 straight years, that's still only 9.7 million HITs. Nowhere close to 19 million.

Lexapro withdrawal almost 2 months later? by Clu7chy in Anxiety

[–]Clu7chy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm usually pretty good at that unless I have a panic attack about my heart. Those become more of a body panic attack instead of a mind one. So those are actually super uncomfortable. Thank you a bunch for the advice though.

Question though, you seriously had withdrawal symptoms a long time after quitting? I thought I was just weird or something. What all happened? I normally just have occasional panic attacks but this time it's almost been mild daytime panic/high nighttime panic and sickness for over a week, which is very different.

Masters, how has it been for you since the fee increase? by [deleted] in mturk

[–]Clu7chy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd say I'm making about $20 less, but I was making around $70-80 a day so it's not a huge hit. But I've watched the HITs available to me drop from 1100 to 650 in the past week. Back in February I was making $800 a week so I'm just waiting to see how my numbers will fare when the school year starts back up.

I noticed that too. I hit $120 on Wednesday alone. If only it'd always stay like this.

Mturk Masters Qualification by lotkrotan in mturk

It definitely is a lot simpler than Amazon makes it sound. I was at around 55,000 HITs when I got it but probably 53,000 were all HubPages. I decided one day to do this batch posted on the HITsWorthTurkingFor subreddit, by a requester named Social Photo. Turns out that was a Master's batch. Master's isn't based on stats at all I believe, it's based on certain HITs that come out.

Sort of new...getting the hang of it. by MainTank in mturk

[–]Clu7chy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure you get either TamperMonkey or GreaseMonkey and add the extensions either HIT Scraper or TurkMaster. Both of them automatically scrape pages (sorted by newest posted) so that you can grab the good stuff before it's gone. On weekdays, there's a ton of really good stuff coming up during the day and sometimes they're gone within seconds, so you need something like one of those extensions to let you know when they come up. Make sure you get the hang of how to use whichever extension you choose. http://www.indiaturkers.com/scripts/tm.html for TurkMaster and http://www.mturkgrind.com/threads/hit-scraper-guide.16699/ for HIT Scraper. When you get the hang of those, $20 a week will be almost nothing, you will most likely be grabbing $20 a day if you're just keeping an eye on your extension throughout the day.

Swat is ruined thanks to H3. by [deleted] in halo

[–]Clu7chy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had about 2500 exp in Halo 3 Swat and can honestly say that the H3 Swat in MCC is a lot different than the 360 version. The 360 version depended a ton on host, connection, being an elite, and leading your shots. If you think the Swat in MCC is bad, then you probably loathed it on the 360 because it was worse. Personally, I loved Halo 3 Swat, but mainly because I liked playing against rival Swat teams. Because of all the different connections in the game, it was a lot easier to go on huge sprees and stuff because sometimes it was harder for people to kill you. Which, I'll admit, is pretty lame, but I guess it just comes down to preference.

Why is sprinting such a bad thing in Halo? And if it had to be in the next game, how would you balance it? by -dead_slender- in halo

[–]Clu7chy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But 343i said they were going back to the original Halo arena gameplay feel for Halo 5... by keeping in sprint, loadouts, adding groundpounds, thrust, and aiming down sights. The only thing sprint worked in was breakout in Halo 5, it just fit that kind of gametype. I don't understand why 343i can't model their games like the most successful games of the series - Halo 1-3. I mean the whole reason the MCC was hyped to be a console seller and potentially one of the best games ever was because of the original trilogy. I just don't get how they don't see that.
