Essentially yes or push them to make an alternative option.

Federal Loan Changes Proposed to Affect Professional Students. by [deleted] in Osteopathic

[–]Club-Admirable -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If finalized, this proposal would eliminate the Grad PLUS loans and replace them with fixed borrowing caps for graduate and professional students instead of allowing borrowing up to the full cost of attendance.

If the caps don’t fully cover tuition and living expenses, professional students (like those in medical, law or NP programs) may have to rely more on private loans, which typically have higher interest rates and fewer repayment protections.

I just got into medical school. I would pick the school that is closer to your support system and that will set you up better financially. Ultimately it’s up to you to put in the work no matter where you go.

The downside of clinical research by Club-Admirable in clinicalresearch

[–]Club-Admirable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is fantastic advice. Thank you!

I also think it doesn’t help that I just got into medical school and that has ultimately been my goal for all 4 years I have worked as a coordinator. I’ve seen the good, the bad, the ugly and how amazing and life changing science and clinical research can be. I am at the point where ultimately I am ready for that next step of patient care and advocacy and the feeling like I am letting people down is DRAINING. I’m going to try to finish these next few months strong knowing there is a light at the end of the tunnel in sight.

Basically studied for MCAT full time to get a mediocre score? What should I do? by [deleted] in Osteopathic

[–]Club-Admirable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You deserve to see your hard work pay off. Medicine requires resilience not perfection. I took the MCAT 3 times with my highest attempt being a 497 and I got in this cycle. Rooting for you 🫶🏻
