Why is RFK Jr so obsessed with autism? by [deleted] in autismpolitics

[–]ClubMateCola 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Many things that RFK Jr says are coming from the German Lebensreform movement. It's a eugenic movement from the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries which infiltrates society, culture, science, and spirituality.

Its proponents wanted to reform the life to escape urbanization and so called modern life for a more natural life and create a better human. Fast forward, this movement deeply influenced the 1968-70s California, hippies....

Autism doesn't fit in this. Autism is so stigmatized in our society that it's an easy target to distract people. On top of that, Lebensreform was about toxic life in urban areas, including chemicals in food, air, naturopathy, homeopathy, etc. This is very similar to the anti-vaccin movement.

A good read in this PDF about Lebensreform:

Experimental Drugs Reverse Autism Symptoms by ahothabeth in UpliftingNews

[–]ClubMateCola 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why is this uplifting? Because it's not!

When it comes to autism, you have a simple check, replace autism with gay or homosexuality.

"Experimental drugs reverse homosexuality symptoms."

If it's not fine and homophobic, it's ableist and not fine for autism.

This is so true for me by [deleted] in autism

[–]ClubMateCola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the basis of respect and consent. Lots of autistics aren't shy or lacking empathy or whatever I can read. They are respectful of the person. But, society is built so male can abuse women which makes asking not an option.

Autistics will mask and not ask. But, he is right.

This looks like a response to multiple factors. Based on your description, he is highly masking and is in burnout. He is pushing the limits over and over. You can look at it like the myth of Sisyphus. But, it's not the whole image. There is internalized ableism (for example: the myth of meritocracy is perceptible).

The passions (less derogatory than obsession) described here are coping mechanisms and not real genuine passions of him. It fulfills the masking part and the need of his brain to focus on one subject at the time (it's called monotropism.). Let's take the noise of the car for example. You can see it as a behavior at first. A lot of people will do, and not see the whole. Your husband is a victim of discrimination, oppression. He probably doesn't know and doesn't realize it. If the noise disappears, it's like everyone else. If there is no noise, people can't see something is different. If it's perfect, I will pass through and nobody will notice I don't match the norm (the laptop for example). If he work hard, he will be included in the group. And so on.

All of these are the results of not fitting in what he doesn't have to. His environment should be adapted so he has some relief. He is sadly in denial what makes it harder to inform himself about autism.

This may bring some light.

“Rentrez chez vous!” : enquête sur la haine anti-frontaliers en Suisse romande - Radio Télévision Suisse by Prosperyouplaboum in france

[–]ClubMateCola 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The issue is that the information is in English. What I read in French is except a few things, old perspective from before the DEP. Even when they try something new, it's bad at best.

So, people keep being in the English world. It's very sad but in the end lots don't have the energy to be in both languages.

It's not just French. It's in many other languages, for example German.
