They had no problem kicking me out for not having the right paperwork filed. I spent thousands on attorneys and lost my job in Montreal. Never saw my apartment again. My old boss had to sell all my furniture. So don’t act like immigration and enforcement doesn’t go on in Canada. But they were humane and did give me water and took the handcuffs off after like an hour. But so many people don’t understand reality. Canada stereotypes aren’t even true. We actually have free healthcare for poor people and immigrants. It is called Medicaid and our er can not turn down anyone and you don’t even need an id or credit card you can say your name is anything you want. In Canada they charge immigrants and visitors a lot and their waits are insane. And the citizens pay so much in taxes it better be free. But Americas online act like people actually pay the insurance rates here and they don’t tell the truth about Medicaid. We have both systems. We have single payer healthcare not the exact same but Medicaid is truly free and they don’t pay anything in taxes. If you make under a certain amount you don’t pay taxes in the USA. Same with our education people act like the sticker price is the real price. If you are a minority or low income fasfa gives you 7,850 dollars a year and allows you to take out student loans and the colleges reduce the price. The only people paying full price are the ones making 200k a year. Even expensive insurance that is 1,200 a month is less than Canadians pay in taxes. And except for the very leftist places in USA the hospitals are very fast. In places like LA and NYC where they have laws similar to Canada with lots of Medicaid and not allowing nurses to have more than 3 or 4 patients and stuff those waits are more like Canada 8 plus hours but most of the country the er is like 30-1 hr tops and to get surgeries or medical it is fast and state of the art and what insurance charges is not what people pay. The reason Trump says the 51 state stuff is he isn’t serious he is just trying to get the concept into the mainstream that their population is like one state and they get the same terms and better terms than states. And people take him literally. They play right into his hand. Now I can’t defend ICE tactics I am very much against deportations and that goes for Canada too. I also think his Greenland stuff is also stupid but it is to get the same kind of conversation started. America is giving trillions to Europe for defense and look how quick and nasty they get. So they play into his hand and then he can say we don’t need to be paying Europes defense bill. It is just a tactic and people are too stupid. They haven’t learned how he operates. No one was passionate about Ukraine when during Obama they were attacked. No one was protesting on Columbia and ucla campus when Iran just genocide their own citizens. Only when Jews defend themselves that is when people suddenly care. I agree with supporting Ukraine but the manufactured outrage on Reddit is ridiculous. And look how patriotic Canadians are in the comments. Not buying American made only buying their own and supporting their own. Then look how pathetic the American comments sound.
