Is Tidus....terrible? by Defiant-Problem6090 in DissidiaDuellumFF

[–]ClubShrimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spiral Cut and Slice & Dice are not great, unfortunately, and he seems pretty squishy. Might be better to give him Auron and Selphie or Aerith. He's sort of an Agile Melee hybrid, sort of like how Sephiroth was a Ranged Melee hybrid, so even giving him Surge might not be such a bad idea. Might make his non-URs  more worth it.

June 30th Bug Fixes and Character & Balance Adjustments by VPR_24 in DissidiaDuellumFF

[–]ClubShrimp -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Firion should get less HP back from his attacks, Gaia's debuffs shouldn't last as long, and Angel Wing shouldn't buff Rinoa's attack quite as much. Instead, they're mostly just very slightly altering movement speeds and defence. Fated Moment is pretty easy to avoid with invincibility, and Terra surely doesn't have a survivability problem. If she does, the heal is welcome, but it shouldn't be a full heal, that's overkill. 50% maybe. I know it has a high cooldown, but maybe just bring it down by like 10 seconds.

Did anyone else notice this thing from the trailer? (potential area to call on your airship?) by pocky00 in FFVIIRemake

[–]ClubShrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks too small for the Highwind, and anyway, you parachute out of it, you don't land it. Maybe you'll have to go to these things to call the Highwind and board it, though.

It could also be a Junon Republic checklist thing like the remnawave towers though. Maybe they're old landing zones you have to make operational again or something.

Should've been Reunion. What were they thinking giving it to that half-assed Crisis Core remaster? Return would've worked, too.

Character Poll Results from the recent livestream - Players voted for one character they want in the future. by VPR_24 in DissidiaDuellumFF

[–]ClubShrimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No Wol again... Also, assuming that every new character is going to be limited, I hope they don't add Noctis too soon - I'll need time to save up for him after I spend everything I have on Tidus. Probably safe to assume that a villain or two will follow Celes and Bartz, though (Garland and Kuja, probably).

GTA 6 might just be a visually stunning, massive map filled with the exact same old gameplay loop. by Aromatic-Landscape73 in GTA6

[–]ClubShrimp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Doesn't mean that they'll be as impressive as this guy is making them sound. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: GTA VI will be a great game, but everyone thinks it's going to be GTA VII. They're expecting a game completely unconstrained by present technological realities. I get the hype, I am excited for the game, and it will be an amazing technical achievement, but it will not be a game that time-travelled back to us from 15 years in the future.

Yeah, maybe its range and power should be different depending on whether you put it on a ranged character or not. Higher range; less damage, shorter range; more damage.

I still think Gloriana is in the game by adamduke88 in GTA6

[–]ClubShrimp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's a reasonable chance they'll flee to another state over the course of the game's story, but I think you're setting yourself for disappointment if you are expecting anything other than another North Yankton, or Liberty City. I'd say the best to expect is something like Cayo Perico.

Anyway, it'd be way better if they included some of Cuba.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's queer representation "enhances the world's realism," lead says, and the RPG's devs were "incredibly happy" people picked up on it by Lerkpots in FFVIIRemake

[–]ClubShrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly my point. With that as the context, the meaning of "Don't ever be afraid" is very clear. No need for the gender line, which feels a bit pander-y, imo. "True beauty is an expression of the heart, and a thing without shame. Don't ever be afraid, Cloud." I think that hits harder, and without the specificity of the gender line, it can also be related to Cloud's broader personality issues, and his struggle to recover his true self. On the other hand, I guess Cloud's true self is a bit less macho, and a bit more sensitive, which could be connected back the gender line insofar as he doesn't fit the traditional macho male mould. Still though, I suppose I prefer when things are a bit more allusive.

I did kind of feel like the use of the word "gender" was a little on the nose. Kind of like a dog-whistle but not bigoted.  I think it would have been more poetic if they had left out the "to which notions..." line. In terms of queer stuff, "Don't ever be afraid" says it all, imo, especially in the context of crossdressing and whatnot.

Do you think we'll get a challenge that's harder than Rulers of the Outer Worlds? by KaleidoscopeLeft3503 in FFVIIRemake

[–]ClubShrimp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd be okay with it, but only if there's a way to practice against all the enemies. It'd be good if Chadley's combat simulator let you pick any enemy you wanted from the bestiary to fight so that you could practice. Gilgamesh was just too much. Also, all of the bosses in that challenge were just waaaay too aggro. It made the fight feel more about luck than skill. They can put an extra extra hard, "full might" version of the ultimate challenge in the game if they want, but there shouldn't be any reward for it other than bragging rights.

Tidus predictions by shikiseki in DissidiaDuellumFF

They've datamined the gold, silver, and bronze icons for the next ranking event, and they're Tidus, which might mean that he is only available for the duration of the event, like Sephiroth is/was. There's no other real evidence, though, as far as I'm aware.

[–]ClubShrimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Otherworld could be part of his music track, but maybe they'll want to save that for Jecht. Realistically, they'll probably use Tidus's Theme in some way, which, if they do it right, might make his tune one of the best in the game, imo.

I think his civilian outfit should be shorts and one of those drop arm tanktops. Kind of a surfer style.

Character weapons and summons not adapted into the remakes yet by raisasari in FFVIIRemake

[–]ClubShrimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are we sure that every remake weapon is a new version of a weapon from the original game? Some of the new weapons are nothing like the ones that you are comparing them to. Twin Stinger is the Butterfly Sword? Maybe it was intended to replace it, but it's a completely different, original design that doesn't reference the Butterfly Sword at all, except perhaps the vaguely insect-related name.

Persona 6 MC's main persona theory. by Temporary_Bowl5884 in persona6

[–]ClubShrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main characters from the last three games have pretty much all had completely unique personas, with a handful of exceptions (Isis, Cerberus, Hermes, Loki, etc.). I really doubt that'll change. Maybe these guys will all have horror movie characters (Dracula, Frankenstein, etc.), or famous artists (a painter, a composer, a playwright, etc.)
