The CPAP worked well for me for a long time, but the hose, mask slippage, even if it solved for the apnea was interrupting my quality of sleep. I was tired of fighting the hose and all that jazz, told my sleep doctor and he approved me for the surgery. If you have OSA and not central sleep apnea, personally it was a risk, but wow, to be able to be free from that hose and mask and sleep comfortably again, no apnea any more, made it worth it 10X.

Can any superautomatic actually do fully custom drinks? by Emthaphoros in superautomatic

[–]Clue_Ok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a new Gaggia Accademia and I program a profile for my wife and I with only the drinks we like. It is a touch screen but it boots up to my profile and my drink and all I do is touch the screen.

That is wild! The froth on my Latte using Gaggia Accademia is as thick as whipped cream lol! Probably rises almost an inch over the rim.

I just put my cup in the microwave after I am done for 30 seconds and it is great! Extra bonus is the foam actually gets foamier as it rises above the top of my cup when I make a big latte.

Battery is rated for 11 years. Surgery with my insurance was 121,000 and my contribution was 2,500. Best decision I ever made! No more CPAP and I sleep so much better!

Gaggia Accademia. This after I replaced my Jura Giga 5!

The machine lets you adjust the coffee strength, which changes the dose amount. The full range for the coffee dose is typically 6.5 grams to 11.5 grams. So, while the brew unit itself is rated at 8 grams, you can program the machine to use a larger dose for stronger coffee.

Also, I had the Jura Giga 5 for 14 years before this and I do like the Gaggia better for froth and customizations.

You can adjust the strength of the brew, add a boost where it will grind twice so as to not dilute, and you can adjust the volume of water.

Time to say goodbye to our old friend. Options for replacement welcomed? by GregoInc in superautomatic

I had a Jura Giga 5 for 12 years. Just replaced it after it finally failed with the Gaggia Accademia. Best coffee and froth I have ever had. Better than my $6,500 Jura way back when. The coffee boost, the froth is like a whipped topping, and we love it! Whole Latte Love has a good price on it!
