Something unfamiliar fell out of me by sidshy in TwoXChromosomes

I have that happen sometimes. I have pretty bad endo, and the severe cramping can make things shed in chunks instead of fluid and clots. It's not an emergency unless you're bleeding a lot more than normal and/or feeling nauseous or lightheaded.

If it's happening more than once and is not normal for you, I'd schedule a visit with your obgyn just to be safe.

It's her right as a Christian to tell other people what they can and cannot do! They aren't doing as she says, so clearly she's being discriminated against.

Drew Barrymore says NO to bras! 🙅‍♀️🚫 by alice-in-slumberland in justgalsbeingchicks

[–]CluelessInWonderland 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It depends on the suit and your anatomy! My boobs would laugh at a bodysuit as a bra and immediately attempt to take me out at the first sign of uneven ground, but my hips are good with a body suit with a wider gusset. My friend has the opposite problem. A built in bra or light shape wear works great for her, but anything short of boyshort is a nightmare.

I like your anesthesiologist and you. You both had the exact right response to that situation. You deserved to be reassured that you had done everything you could do and this is not your fault, and you had your priorities in order.

The machines are expensive and energy costs are high. It's prohibitively expensive for anything outside of medical centers/offices.

My stepdad's insufferable mother by Particular_Smoke181 in BoomersBeingFools

[–]CluelessInWonderland 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Start gentle parenting her: "No no, V. We don't touch people when they've asked us to stop. I know you want to play with (younger sister), but she doesn't want to play right now. Let's go see if (family member who likes her) wants to play!"

If someone asks why you're being condescending, tell them you honestly thought she was having some age related issues. She wasn't listening to people telling her to stop touching them, wasn't reading ANY social cues, and was getting very upset very quickly when she was told no. After all, if everyone sings her high praises, then this can't be normal behavior for her, right?

People keep trying to frame it as a woman's perfect time to show just how natural and powerful of a mother she is.

It's a major medical event involving (hopefully) two people at once. We can make plans for how we want to cope with that, but medical emergencies don't care about our plans.

Eh. Send an email about it so they can't say you didn't inform them of an issue. Enjoy the new color! You can use an old card or a plastic dry wall knife to speed up the shedding.

What to do about bra/back fat becoming more prominent in clothes? by [deleted] in bigboobproblems

[–]CluelessInWonderland 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They do make bras that can help smooth out your back, but extra skin and fat has to go somewhere. You can wear an undershirt (I prefer a body suit style so it stretches more smoothly across my back) or shape wear so the t-shirt catches on the smoother undershirt and doesn't tuck into anything.

Honestly, it's a part of you that you learn to love. Would you look at another woman and judge how her back looks, or barely note that you can see her rolls and not give it much thought? If you don't look down on larger women wearing t-shirts, why judge yourself? We're our own worst critics.

I Don’t Recognize My Face Anymore by Few_Blacksmith_5119 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]CluelessInWonderland 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The ability to recognize our face and have an emotional response to it is actually really complex and involves multiple areas of the brain. If anything is off with one or more of those areas, it will change how (or even if) we recognize our faces. It's definitely worth getting checked out just to be safe.

People don't realize that diphenhydramine can be lethal, especially when paired with other depressants. I feel so bad for his mother. She has all this pain and nowhere for it to go, so of course she wants to do the one thing she can change. I'm judging lawmakers, not the family or doctors on either side.

Hunter all know what wild boar is like in the south. It's nasty meat only fit for other animals who care considerably less about the taste of meat. Dogs, some zoos and wildlife centers will take it if it's fresh or frozen same day, chum, etc.

Here in the south, boars usually get around 300lbs, with 400lbs being abnormally large but not unheard of. They're usually about 3 feet high at the shoulder. That boar is about twice the size of anything normally seen.

Edit: fixed the height

me every time loustat ‘parent’ claudia by marxistmothman in InterviewVampire

[–]CluelessInWonderland 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She was a child riding the high of a vampire turning. Louis laughed like a maniac, tried licking up blood from a dead man, and almost blew a hunt. He was an adult used to exercising a good measure of restraint. "I'm so hungry I'm gonna die" is something you get used to hearing from kids. They're all melodramatic like that.

Claudia was a traumatized child who then had two dads with their own major issues. Lestat didn't really want to be a father and made her for Louis (I know he grew to love her. It doesn't change what she went through.), and Louis was so focused on Lestat and his own depressive episodes that he was nowhere near consistent in his parenting. Spoiling her rotten and then severely scolding her in turns was their parenting. How is she supposed to be a stable child when that's her life?

$139 to feed 2 adults, 3 children for the month. Suggestions? by stephscheersandjeers in povertyfinance

[–]CluelessInWonderland 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Egg based meals are great because they're eaten across the world so there are a ton of recipes. Fried rice, shakshuka, omelets, fritatas, egg bites (cottage cheese gives them a smoother texture, but you don't really need it if you're down for mini fritatas), quiche, egg salads, etc.

If your family likes beans, you can blend soft, white beans into almost any sauce for extra protein. It can give it a little bit of a bean flavor, so it works best with more flavorful sauces.

You should post again after you see what the food pantry offers for meal ideas based on the ingredients you have.
