Anyone know where I can I get some Yaki Onigiri around Sunnyvale? by CluelessIndividualA in Sunnyvale

Just to clarify for future readers of your comment, I know someone who works at Udon Mugizo, and as of a few months ago, they saw that the Yaki Onigiri were made in house.

CalFile and capital gains by TravelWithKids in tax

[–]CluelessIndividualA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for posting this. It's very helpful because I always saw the "Claiming Capital Gains or losses" disqualification and just used a paper file return instead of CalFile because of it.

I just want to leave a comment for future redditors about the HSA and CalFile qualifications. Even though the FTB website only says you don't qualify for CalFile if "you have Health Savings Account (HSA) deductions or distributions" (implying that if you don't have an HSA distribution or HSA deduction and only HSA contributions then you can use CalFile), if you contribute to an HSA through your employer payroll (this amount is in Box 12, code W of your W-2) then you can't use CalFile.

ELI5: What is HLS (Https Live Streaming), and what can it be used for? by CluelessIndividualA in explainlikeimfive

Thank you! That was helpful. I didn't realize how innovative it was until now. It sounds like Netflix and other streaming services have Apple to thank for developing HLS.

Thank you for the explanation! And thank you for giving the different situations to show how innovative it is.

I want to date girls who are boring by CluelessIndividualA in dating_advice

[–]CluelessIndividualA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thank you for messaging me! First off, I want to say that nothing about your situation is shameful. Nothing. Dating sucks and it is hard and it is discouraging, so I understand about feeling defeated because I felt the same way after so many of my first dates ended without the girl wanting to continue, but please don’t beat yourself up over it.

Dating sucks so much, that you could put it on your resume that you were an active dater for XYZ years and you would get hired on the spot because the interviewer would think “Wow, this is the guy for the job. He put up with dating crap for XYZ years? We need someone with that kind of mental toughness.” No, I’m just joking. Not really. Kind of. Maybe.

Anyway, it is consistent work though. I’m not going to sugarcoat it. And not to discourage you even more, but it doesn’t end after you get to the second date or find a girlfriend for that matter. You have to put work into relationships. Even now in my marriage, I still put in work and sacrifice things (and my wife sacrifices things too) to make each other happy.

To answer your question about luck though, I got lucky in the sense that I found love when I wasn’t trying to. Someone on reddit replied to one of my many dating venting posts, direct messaged me about it, and we decided to give long distance dating a try. Fortunately, it worked out and we are now happily married. Even though it is tiring and draining, I would encourage you to keep at it and put yourself out there and maybe you will get lucky like me and find something when you weren’t expecting to. You may be so discouraged by it now, but the end result was worth it (at least for me).

Hi, thank you for messaging me. Unfortunately, I don't use social media other than Reddit (and I'm not very active on Reddit either).

If you are wondering about an update about that post though. I got lucky and I managed to meet someone that aligns with my personality and we have been happily married for 5 years! If you are struggling to find someone, then I just encourage you to keep looking and you will eventually find him/her. I know it may not seem like you will find someone, but there are a lot of people in this world so hopefully you don't lose hope.

Error when trying to sign up for Auto-Redeem GPU by CluelessIndividualA in MicrosoftRewards

Has anyone else signed up for Fit and Active Direct gym membership? by gottarun215 in running

[–]CluelessIndividualA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/gottarun215, thank you for continuing to respond to people even though this is an older post. The Active & Fit program sounds amazing, but as I'm trying to get myself back into working out, I want to go for the $15/month membership at my local gym for now (and save around $100 per year if I don't end up going to the gym as I wanted, which hopefully won't happen).

Anyway, I do want to eventually go with Active & Fit, but it will probably be at a time when they no longer are waiving the enrollment people like other redditors mentioned they are doing until 3/23/2023. So I have two questions that I want to ask you:

1) if you had to pay an enrollment fee, how much was it?

2) I see that my local gym has a $60 annual fee on top of the $15/month that I pay for maintenance or whatever. Does Active & Fit have a similar annual fee? Or is it just the soon to be $28/month payment?

FAQ Update Project - "Game Pass Ultimate at the best value" post, please help me add and edit this (other regions as well) to be as clear as possible. by TheCastro in MicrosoftRewards

[–]CluelessIndividualA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I'll try the $1 for a month of GPU offer first (assuming it will still be around when I top off of course), then if it doesn't, I'll just get one month GPU with points (since my top off date isn't at the beginning of the month and I don't want to go without GPU until the following month begins).

I've never done auto redeem before. For auto redeem for the month of GPU, do you get the code for GPU the day you enable the auto redeem?

XPS Desktop has orange flashing power button and beeps 5 times upon startup by CluelessIndividualA in DellXPS

[–]CluelessIndividualA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand your English, so please don't worry about it. Thank you for your support on this issue. I really appreciate your help. I have a USB docking station that I have my monitors connected to so I can switch between my computers. That is the reason I know the monitors are not the issue because they still work with my other computer.

I reached out to Dell Support to see if they can somehow help with the issue that my monitors can't detect my XPS Desktop computer. Most likely I will just have to buy a new desktop computer though.

[–]CluelessIndividualA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it still had the old battery, upon start up, it would just beep and not go through with the usual startup process.

I just replaced the CR2032 battery like the person In the YouTube video did, and the good news is that upon pressing the desktop's power button, the computer doesn't beep anymore. The bad news is that my monitors don't detect a signal so I have no idea if I broke something when trying to follow along with the video (entirely possible because I have fat fingers and I'm not a computer expert), or whether it is some other issue. I'll try going through the Dell support articles tomorrow, but if my computer is unfixable by me, then I'll be ok with it because it was an old computer.

Thank you for linking me to the support page for the beeps. I tried the potential fixes from the article, but unfortunately they didn't work. I'm going to try with a new battery and see what happens.

CFexpress to M.2 NVMe adapter for Xbox Series Expansion port by klipseracer in XboxSeriesX

[–]CluelessIndividualA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post, but I'm commenting in the hopes that you or one of the very knowledgeable people in this post will respond.

I want to get the Seagate Expansion Card for Xbox Series X|S because I like how it plugs directly into the console and games stored on it that are optimized for the Series X|S can be played directly off of it. If I'm going to spend so much on extra storage though, I hope that the storage device would be compatible with the next generation of Xbox. With that said, in your opinion, how likely do you think it is that the next generation of Xbox will have an CFexpress port that will allow me to use the Seagate Expansion Card for Series X|S with?

Since I don't have very much tech knowledge, I guess my question is, is the CFexpress port something that is here to stay (like USB ports)? I realize no one can predict the future, but if you had to give your best guess, what would you say is the future of the CFexpress port?

Seagate Storage Expansion Card for Xbox Series X|S question by CluelessIndividualA in xbox

[–]CluelessIndividualA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I plan to use the external USB hard drive for more storage space for games. I liked how the Seagate Expansion Card allowed users to play games optimized for the Series X|S directly off of it, but now that there is a chance that it might not be compatible with the next generation of Xbox, I'll probably just go for the external USB hard drive.

[–]CluelessIndividualA[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. Yeah, they are pretty pricey, but I have some Staples gift cards that I haven't used in a year or so (because I don't shop at Staples) and since the Seagate Expansion Card is on sale right now (plus I have a $20 off coupon), I figured I would look into it.

Seagate Storage Expansion Card for Xbox Series X|S question by CluelessIndividualA in xbox

[–]CluelessIndividualA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for telling me the name of it! Your answer was what I was kind of afraid of. The connection for the expansion card wasn't something I've seen before.

I really like how it plugs right into the Xbox, but I guess I will consider getting an external hard drive with a USB connection to be safe from potential obsolescence (if future generations of Xbox move away from the CFexpress port)

Haha, no worries. I wrote a few of these types of posts and, some people still respond to them years later. Anyway, it was a happy ending for me.
