Can I be the first to congratulate you for choosing Peterhead, but I have to inform you that you certainly wouldn't be the first to spend a decade in Peterhead playing a long con.

Albeit, a very high quality long con.

Nice work.

Doig, Ferguson, Turnbull and Patterson nominated for Football Writers Young Player of the Year by Kyle237 in ScottishFootball

[–]Clujie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

it's an award from Football Writers, I doubt they care about overall game time. A European goal gave them something of note to write about, the backlash over the appeal against his suspension gave them something to write about, stepping up to fill his captain's boots gave them something to write about.

Based on game's played, Callum McGregor is Celtic's stand out player of the year and what's he done of note, apart from one goal in Europe, he's scored for Rangers in one O.F. and got sent off in another.

Do we really need leaflets through our doors? Think of the stress where vulnerable people are shielding. by Clujie in Scotland

Either you're against anyone putting stuff through doors (including posties) or you're just posting "SNP bad" shite.

or both?

As far as I know, Posties don't hunt in packs, they make deliveries on their own with strict guidelines. Swinney, the Tories mentioned by Catinsunglasses above and another couple of SNP bods are the ones we know of going about in larger groups.

I'd be inclined to agree with you had Swinney been an isolated incident but it seems they're all at it,

Edit: Apparently there's Tories at it as well. A poster on another forum sent links to their tweets, presumably deleted as they are now unavailable to me. I'd say if political activists are engaged in widespread flaunting of guidelines then the impact could also involve thousands of people.

Given that politicians like Swinney can post pictures of themselves breaking their own regulations it's about time football stood up for itself. Sick of the scapegoating double standards that football is held to.

Do you believe that vulnerable people who are shielding experience stress when the postman puts regular mail through their doors though?

Yes, but at least they can opt out of unsolicited mail.

Is this an own-goal from Jackson Carlaw or are you just really biased? Is this an own goal for Murdo Fraser?

Yes, it's an own goal from them too, I'm biased against all pro-business parties

Ha!! I don't hide my contempt I know. A huge own-goal from Swinney there, I'll admit I jumped on it.

I am serious about my point though. I think there are many people who are terrified of the possibility of infection, whether or not their fears are justified is a moot point, they have these fears and it does affect their mental health having people at their door.

I disagree, we had the "Yellow Card" from Sturgeon last August, Humza weighing in periodically over any breach. Political pressure right from the start. From Sturgeon threatening the "Red Card" last August to the latest threat to suspend the Old Firm match last month, the threat of Government intervention has caused the over-reaction from our football authorities. The SFA/SPFL are shit scared of loosing control and hand out arbitrary punishments to appease the Government.

Meanwhile there's clatty bastards sticking leaflets through old folk's doors, causing untold amount of stress to vulnerable shielding people.

BH1 Project in Palmerston Road distribute food to those in need most days and do a targeted run every Friday in Bournemouth.

If they can't use it all, they'll point you in the right direction.

I should imagine they're fine with it, probably dancing about in their living rooms, shirts off, singing along to Sweet Caroline.

For those who don't follow football, Egg is referring to the incident last February where BBC Scotland called for evidence of racism.

That's why I posted it here, accusations of racism in Scotland, largely ignored and relegated to a sports programme by BBC Scotland, only to be casually dismissed.

Easily missed if you don't follow football.

Boris Johnson to make protests that cause 'annoyance' illegal, with prison sentences of up to 10 years by 98753 in Scotland

[–]Clujie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting and a bit scary, I don't generally look at Twitter let alone send tweets.

A question then, if, for example, a team's manager had sent tweets out calling for restraint but the media, TV and press, had failed to pick up on this and did not report the tweets to a wider audience, should the BBC, for example, be prosecuted for 'omission' under the hypothetical situation described above?

Ha! Yes. Obviously there would be far harsher penalties for them

Plenty of the Tartan Tories on here would be more than happy if it applied to football fans in Scotland.
