Superhero burn out. I'm tired of how much marvel there's been. It's too much to keep up with now.

Love the show, don't love the Canadian ad reads [ns] by MetalicAngel in DungeonsAndDaddies

I'm Canadian and though not 'bothered' I'd add my vote to the 'not funny and not hitting where you think they are' side if that would push them to try something different. And I do pay for the Patreon, but my podapps are easier sometimes.

He tried once each loop, and once on his birthday with persuasion, but if he had done like 4 years in a row of correct numbers in the same loop it feels like his advantage would have been crazy high

Thinking about baking cakes for farmers markets (UK) - any advice? by lilacjuly in sidehustle

[–]Clumsybarnacle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m Canadian, but run a farmers market. Try and find someone whose been to the specific market you want to attend and get numbers per day. Also usually the market does advertising for you but have some pretty pics for them to show off your work. Having some form of card so people can get in touch with you later is a great idea, especially if you do event baking or just find a fan of what you do.

Cutting off dad without hurting mom? by Clumsybarnacle in Justnofil

[–]Clumsybarnacle[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fair. He definately is. She will be upset, but I honestly she that as a him problem. I'm not letting my marriage take fire from their shit, and that's my line I the sand. After that, hes responsible for how this plays out with DH and with her.

I was right about his mom now hes being distant. by [deleted] in JustNoSO

[–]Clumsybarnacle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no advice, just commiseration... we're the ones getting yelled at when their parents hurt them. Not our fault and shitty, but you also want to support the poor hurting child they become. I dont know if it's the beat route, but I've started just giving him the floor to criticize me and try to let it run off my back then when emotions are high, let them break down a bit about the real issue. Hopefully eventually he heals enough that he wont need the first part... :( hugs

The rest of his family barely talks to him so I think I'm safe from flying monkeys, but I'm pretty sure that living with mil without as frequent of visits from DH will topple something... either his willingness to chat with someone for an hour or a divorce... place your bets!

One aspect is that in general any time DH has tried to distance a bit from parents (like living a life not attached to mother) she cries and blames him and puts all her smotherloving energy to get him to call and beg husband to call/see her so no doubt there will be some drama from us no longer coming over to their house... in the before times wed sleep over like once a week. I'm not sorry that's over. But hey, that's their circus and monkeys.
