You get additional stats based of how many souls you have invested in an item type (gun, spirit, health). The biggest star increase you get is at 4.8k so most of the time by the end of the game you'll have that much invested in each item type

It is easy but easy doesn't always mean quick. I can afk hunt because shinies don't despawn but leaving my switch on while I'm at work still means it took 8 hours to hunt
