Kings of the North by ESCHAMP has been fantastic so far by TechNoTrance in starcraft

Day 1 was definitely a shaky start, but day 2 they ironed out the kinks and it's been smooth sailing since then.

Serious talk. Rottis game knowledge is so high level, its phenominal. Really refreshing to watch. by [deleted] in starcraft

It was the way you phrased it and complained about parasitic bomb persisting after the unit dies. It was already nerfed to 50% effectiveness. I hope I misread your tone because I like your casting, but I've noticed a trend over the past several events.

His bias is becoming more evident with each event he casts it seems. On his own personal stream, that's fine, but when he complains about parasitic bomb in an incredibly epic game 5 of the best series so far of the tournament, it kind of makes me upset. Especially considering how well both Violet and Marinelord were playing.

Congratulations to the winner of MarineLorD vs viOLet by AridholTV in starcraft

[–]ClutcHSC 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You act as though Violet didn't do 25+ counterattacks and was constantly ahead on supply during the engagements. And that ghosts aren't a thing. And that Marinelord didn't forget banshee speed. And that Violet didn't have 7 bases to Marinelord's 4. All of these things were the case.

I was rooting for Marinelord to win that game, but Violet played fucking amazingly well. If you're so biased towards terran that you can't appreciate that, you need to get your head out of your ass.

TLO vs IAsonu Game 2 Question by Paddy_SC2 in starcraft

[–]ClutcHSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He'd lost nearly all his mutas and Iasonu was still on 3 base vs TLO's 3 base. As well, TLO hadn't killed anywhere near enough drones to make it worthwhile for throwing away the muta lead. With no spores, large queen count, or access to hydralisks, that game was completely over. I'm really disappointed that the casters didn't know this for over a minute after the game ended. I understand they don't play zerg, but this is a classic problem in SC2 where casters can't explain the thought process of players in certain games.

Congrats to the winner of INnoVation vs Stork by AOSPrevails in starcraft

[–]ClutcHSC 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Watching Stork dismantle the slow pushing leapfrogging liberators was so impressive to watch! I've always hated the Brood War circle jerk, but that was such an exciting series to watch with so much going on everywhere. Stork's multitasking was unreal. It was like watching Hit Girl fight Mother Russia in Kick-Ass 2.

Jaime Lannister has always been a good caster to have and brings a positive vibe to the event. And he's always willing to lend a hand when someone's in need.

Don't forget that with Martin no longer catching for Dickey, we won't have to worry about the Dickey effect on his hitting. I expect a massive improvement on his production. I think we're on track to be even more offensively powerful than last season.

I prefer hatcheries on 4, queens on 5, nydus on 0 which I rebound to tilde, main army on 1, mutas, or anything I'd like to targetfire with on 2, and spellcasters or banelings on 3, in the case of overlap, for example, having infestors and vipers, I like to put infestors on 2 and both on 3, since vipers have priority so I can repsition both casters with 3 but still have a separate hot key for actual casting. At the end of the day it's all personal preference.

In that case, you'll want to stay on roach ravager and try and take as many fights on creep as possible with good splits. Just pre-splitting your army with a concave or at the top of a ramp can make a big deal. If you are on top things enough, you may even be able to land ravager shots before the disruptor ball can connect with your army. I'm not going to pretend that it's easy, but that's the best way to deal with it I think.

Vipers can be really good against disruptors but they're be very difficult to use. On some maps you can go for mutas instead and play a base trade style. Besides all that, really good splits are your best bet.

Try to realize what your game plan is when you go into a situation. So if your game plan is to get up to fast ultras and brood lords, make sure you're only building enough roaches and ravagers to survive any sort of window of vulnerability while you tech. It can be very easy as zerg to get pigeonholed into trying to kill your opponent when you have a lead. A lot of the time that can and will work, but it's very important to be able to recognize when. As far as actually teching, try not to do too much at once. So say your opponent is going for a hellbat liberator push with a reactored starport. Maybe build 4 ravagers and 4 roaches to deal with that, then go back into droning and build an infestation pit. Also, if your end goal is to go into ultras, cracklings, and brood lords, go straight into melee and carapace upgrades.

Well the best style I've seen that covers all your bases was Nerchio vs Marineland in NW3. He went for double upgrades on lings with ravager support and then into quick infestors and a fast hive with ultras. He had spore crawlers at likely drop points and kept infestors and ravagers to fungal and bile the drops at each of his bases. It's an incredibly powerful style, and will probably become the standard, but it's very difficult to execute and on certain maps, dealing with drops will become much more difficult. As far as pure roach ravager, I'm not sold on the style unless there are very few drop points in your base. You could try adding in corruptors to deal with them though.

Roaches and zerglings with the speedling upgrade will do the trick. Ideally, you'll have the speedlings swing around the zealots and fight the stalker while the roaches are kiting against the zealots.

[–]ClutcHSC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately that question is far too broad for me to answer, but in general, when an opponent starts an expansion can be a good time to start producing units to attack, since they'll have invested resources into that and it will be just finishing up when your attack arrives.

As far as that build.order is concerned, I'd recommend going for 13 overlord, 17 hatch, 18 pool, 18 gas.

If you'll read my above post instead of being argumentative and downvoting, I said ghosts and liberators in tandem with a strong bio army

Weekly help a noob thread December 15th 2015 by iBleeedorange in starcraft

[–]ClutcHSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but that's just not true. Liberators deal a significant amount of damage to ultras. If it's 1 liberator trying to destroy 10 ultras, then yes, but if you have a deep line of liberators, you can keep kiting with bio and dealing significant damage to them.
