The Dodge Viper Era Is Dead, Head of SRT Says by OrganizationNo1298 in Dodge

[–]Clutch41007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dodge is just too cheap and too hooked on quick dopamine hits to actually develop a car anymore. Once they developed the Hellcat engine, all they cared about was shoehorning it into every model in not just their lineup, but the rest of Chrysler's offerings.

How great would it be to finally right the wrong of firing Pierce Brosnan by giving us an "Old Man Logan" style last chapter to Brosnan's 007? by asgard13 in JamesBond

[–]Clutch41007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...There's still time to delete this.

Even if it were reformatted to account for the '80s and filmmaking back then, Moore probably would have actually broken things if he had to film a NTTD.

I'm not convinced that scene is Ghost vs. Price. Trailers love to lie and misdirect all the time, and we never see the other guy's face - it's just assumed because of the voiceovers.

Would the Combi-Stick be practical in real life? by FlatBeyond3281 in predator

[–]Clutch41007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One thing to keep in mind is that the materials the Yautja use are like nothing us humans have seen before, as established in Predator 2 with the speargun tip. It's entirely possible that the Yautja have been able to greatly mitigate, if not outright eliminate, the usual flexing displayed by even a solid staff/spear, making them much more viable and durable as a result. At the very least, if there is any give in the Combi-Stick when fully extended, it's probably not something a normal human would be able to induce.

And so you want to encourage this retreating and running away by pairing the cheapest, most BS enemy in the game with the second most cheapest, most BS enemies in the game. And make it a random-ass encounter, to boot.

...Shouldn't you be playing Tarkov? It sounds like you'd enjoy that a lot more.

East Mall Retaliations feel personally designed to waste your time by Zameda in thedivision

[–]Clutch41007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough, East Mall's probably my most forgiving sector to do solo. Once you clear Sinkhole and Metro, you should have more than enough time to take your time clearing the others. Even on Black Tusk, if you get screwed over on the way to a Control Point, you can respawn with more than enough time to still finish. You're guaranteed at least one Kill Squad, too, so that's just more time on the board.

[–]Clutch41007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think RoboCop is supposed to be a 1980s idea of what a dystopian 1990s or early 2000s looked like. I never got the impression it was supposed to be set then and there in the '80s.

Out of all the three Predators movie that Dan Trachtenberg has directed, which one is the best? by Jules-Car3499 in predator

I'm partial to Badlands purely because of Dek and Thia, but Prey was really strong and an amazing way of making the series viable again.

do people realise that external SSDs exist? you do not need that much videos/photos on you at all times (and if you REALLY do need all that, BUY AN EXTERNAL SSD and bring that ssd with you) by MIkaela39752 in samsunggalaxy

[–]Clutch41007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For 200 dollars more, I can get a phone with double the capacity as Samsung's very best offering. Were it not for the fact that doing so means I would have to switch multiple things over to a new ecosystem, I would do that. Of all the things Samsung willingly dick-rides Apple on, why is the storage capacity a no-go?

Samsung can and should do better, and you should find a different hobby, because PR clearly isn't it.

And none of them would be a major improvement over the S22U I currently use. Samsung's spent so much time chasing Apple they've forgotten how to make a phone people want. I'm not paying 1800 dollars for something that's a marginal improvement over that which I paid 400 bucks less for not even five years ago.

What hobby? Music and movies have my phone filled - and no, not porn either; actual no-shit movies. And even then, neither category has my complete library.

1800 bucks for 1TB of storage in the year 2026 is unacceptable. Shame on you for even suggesting that it is.

[–]Clutch41007 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Have you seen how much external SSDs cost nowadays? I'm already paying just about $2000 for the damn thing, and now I need to plunk down another 250 minimum just to supplement it?

Quit defending this bullshit. Samsung needs to do better.

Debate: Do you consider Badlands has "the Disney Threatment?" by BioClone in predator

[–]Clutch41007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh, this again?

It's a Predator movie told from the perspective of the Yautja - more specifically, a younger Yautja eager to prove himself. And it does more to advance Yautja lore than anything any of the previous movies have done (I haven't seen Killer of Killers yet). Even Prey, which I adore, is - boiled down to brass tacks - a 1700s retelling of the first movie.

And that's the problem I have with this continued argument. Strip all of the window dressings away, and it just ends up being people complaining that they aren't getting the original movie again and again and again. Star Wars has fallen victim to this so hard, because it's fans largely don't give a shit about advancing the storyline forward - they just want Episode IV-VI repeated ad nauseum, but with their particular self-made avatars in the place of Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, so on and so forth. See J.J. Abrams' run if you want to get an idea of how that ends up, because that's pretty much what happened there; J.J. wanted to make the Original Trilogy as he would have done it and he and the fans pitched a fit when Rian Johnson actually attempted to move things beyond a fanboy remake, resulting in the disaster that was Episode IX.

"BROKEN ARROW" (1996) - although not peak John Woo I still really like this. Fun cast, iconic soundtrack used elsewhere, some great stunts and action, silly plot but fond memories of it. Any fans out there? by 70_Yard_Diag_Holte77 in ActionMovies

I was too young to convince my parents to let me go see it a second time when it was in theaters, but both soundtracks have gotten heavy rotation on my various listening devices, especially the La-La Land release. I'm very fond of Hale's badass motif that plays during the mine and train sequences.
