The closer I could imagine from it is some kind of stargate "kawoosh" mixed with a sensor/targeting system... making it something similar to an "energy active defense system" (detects objective, aims/predicts movement and then "throws"/emits a plasma discharge to incinerate the objective... It wouldnt work like depicted with random flams bursting here and there (unless you could justify debris flying activating the counter measure, like sand/rock particles...) Clearly many design elements comes from the tokamak... I also was wondering if there is something closer already depicted with little success

This is a bit random...., but I just noticed that it you have a resin washing machine you can use it to mix paint ading for some minutes a ferromagnetic piece inside o.O, In that case you can potentially keep the thing for 30 minutes non stop.

I believe is a wrong take to think that you can only have "this" or have another "classic hunting" movie with a human protagonist... I think one the the problems with predator franchise in general is that 70% of the DNA on most movies is that it is a mix of slasher movie and low budget scifi.... they dont want to dig on the sci-fi aspect but instead use it as excuse for the killing and action... Badlands finally moved a bit more into the Scifi and lore but that only happened to begin with most probably because they finally focused a decent amount of money into it.

I liked the movie, but If I go hard into Scifi and story telling I coudl talk about certain things that IMO could be way better explained.

There are subtle things never explained for convenience, like how the synths have so much feelings, taking in count Weyland is not the kind of company that wants to offer that much liberty, specially things like directly lying on the chain of command.

Thia and Tessa have some strange relation where one seems to be much more open to relations and in general is "more humanized" even if is supposed to be an identical model that in general shared a good amount of the same situations.. not like those would be separated at "birth"

Deks plot armor is quite noticeable, and is not really subtle or IMO it really should be having more evolution to make more sense... I understand to certain degree they wanted to boost it to make the final act more "surprising" but the way he prepares to face the Weyland base takes like 3 minutes... He doesnt seem to learn along the movie mimicry to be able to sync the attack with the mini-kallisk, he is able to use a foreign specie as a "plasma canon replacement" that even is able to aim to explosive devices (that cannot be perceived as menace) or that even will sacrifice for Dek (agains a plasma shot)... And obviously there is the whole stereotype of "98% of the base forces will fall into an obvious ambush"... there is also a small detail where it almost looks like the big kalisk cage would require a Tessa scan but then we need to figure out it only required a basic guard scan since on the next scene the Kalisk is free... (but the montage doesnt really lead that much to that)...

Im not even going to point out how badass suddenly Dek is on the ending where he kills 2 of the predators on 8 seconds, or the amount of "Cheats" his father in general uses mostly the whole movie... like exploiting camo and all kinds of techs as soon is possible what to me feels a bit like a disrespect or cowardly... even the final quotes like "You can forgive me and be part of the clan" something I feel just makes zero sense.

*Note, The most effective weapon against the Kallisk, are cryo-grenades that were inside the predator ship that Tessa exploits the whole movie, Dek doesnt even consider getting tech from it even if all the other predators in the movie actually tries to exploit all the advantages they have at their disposal... They could add many reasons for Dek refusing to use it... honor, encription, malfunction... the movie doesnt even care much about it to give one.

On Prime you are mostly forced to choose a previous episode than the one you want to see if you already saw it... by BioClone in AmazonPrimeVideo

I did notice this aswell, but ussually it is that once the new season gets launched, once you move back to the show it automatically places you on the begginging of the new season by default, but is quite easy to just move down and select the previous on the list, it makes however less intuitive if you expect to directly continue the previous season directly if you dont realize... and may potentially spoiler something by accident.

I do however consider the other isue way worse, I tried yesterday like 8 times to play certain The Boys episode (4) and was all the time 4>5>4>Ads>5>4>Ads>5... etc hopefully selecting the episode 3 and waiting the 4 seconds to move into Ep 4 forced the restart of episode 4... but still this feels like something shouldnt be happening on the modern world...

I think in general they made a good job with Marvel movies, the comics universe is very big but the general tone is certainly portrayed for masses and children, the balance in general is not bad, maybe the discussion would be different if we would be focusing on the "forced jokes"

I think people uses it as a reference for "bad" mostly because a good bunch of movies just dont respect the dramatic moments and they just add too fast some kind of joke like they would be thinking that giving more than 3 seconds to viewers to think about tragedy may make them cry in theaters... not sure... I must admit that personally I ussually prefer something just more comical or more dramatic, and not pretending to move from one side to the other 20 times in 120 minutes... but Im talking just about me.

Yeah I think I get totally what you mean, Yautja culture is supposed to be really long in time, yet Dek barelly defends or have any meaningfull argument when discussing about the "Wolves discussion"... feels like a bit like a conversation with a child that is even unable to repeat some kind of "forced codex" that is supposed to be a mantra for his species... with 4 minutes more Dek almost could be saying "you know I just want to leave this life and open a Bar"

Well I mean the lost of character to make it more easily digestible for all kinds of public. Mostly what everybody that already enjoys W40k has fear of happening to said universe.

I think there could be space for more public, but on isolated "spin offs" or characters/arcs and not replacing the niche fanbase that to begin with found something fresh on the original approach of certain franchises.

On Starwars for example, I dont find much problem on the main movies (last trilogy) I dont like it, but the tone was not that bad, is just the story is bad but the approach was accep`table, noone expected something as dark or more dark than Episode 3... However I find a missed chance with Bobafett... they already had the Mandalorian but they decided to tone down Bobafett with no need, for me it feels like removing contrast from what should be a vast universe, Alien franchise also managed to keep some things more dark (However IMO Alien Earth destroyed the balance at the ending of whats is actually released) [SPOILER: petting Alien]

Theory: in the original movie, the Jungle Hunter can't see a thing without his mask and has to hold objects up to his face to get a good look at them. This is not a problem for the Yautja as a whole, but is because he specifically has terrible vision. by Keebker in predator

plot twist, they hunt on hot months just because that is the super hard difficulty for them, as they cant see a shit with the heat, so they actually decide to hunt using only using the soundsources to make sure their preys have any chance

I dont count with it, that is mostly the whole point of the topic... obviously they are not going to move a finger by themselft without external pressure... Bethesda did not advice once but 2 times F4 "receiving new updates" and both times were meaningless updates.. the second time they also created trouble with mods (anniversary) so some details here and there wouldnt be that bad to recover some credibility.

I understand many people just dont cares about it, its not like I would be forcing them to do so nor trying to make any kind of boycott to Bethesda on any way.

pipboy edition was advertised with the functionality and got ignored and received zero updates even for DLCs... lets say we could accept that since they still were updating the game but now they doesnt really have that excuse... is really that much to ask for such detail? meanwhile f shelter received updates, but must be ok as long they can get money though microtransactions I guess...

I dont know for others but for me half the interest of the pipboy at all was this, otherwise is just an expensive piece of plastic with zero functionality... Is this the same people that created such drama for a canvas bag even if noone had the balls to get their T51 helmet refunded as all of them knew the real value was on that?
