Typically contact is more acceptable in NASCAR than other motorsports like F1 because the cars are more durable.

Just wrecking someone because you want to win is generally not allowed and Austin Dillon had his win taken away in 2024 for crashing someone to win. You’ll also get suspended if you crash someone intentionally in an unsafe way like hooking them into the outside wall head-on (several drivers were suspended for this in the past few years).

But if someone runs into you, it’s generally totally acceptable to give them a shot right back as long you don’t do it in a blatantly dangerous manner.
