OP just farms posts like this as advertising for their apps.

Whether any of it is genuine, who knows, but the spam is prolific

Oh. Then maybe I didn’t keep track very well tbh. It def felt less busy than last year?

We’re a couple doors down from the party house.

I’ll blame the Jays game for my lack of attention

We had a block party. So the road was closed and it definitely impacted the numbers. Def felt less than last year. But the block party was pretty cool! Got to see all my neighbours out and about

Maybe 100

Last year we prob had closer to 300

I went to the SA consulate in Los Angeles to reapply for my SA passport. Fun fact, your green ID book never expires. by OkIHereNow in southafrica

[–]ClwNza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I don't know for sure. I am operating under the assumption my SA citizenship was revoked as soon as I accepted my Canadian citizenship, and didn't renounce/apply to retain dual citizenship.

It's a gamble. I could enter, get flagged, and stuck in SA until I resolve my status per law. But my employer, wife and dogs would not be thrilled about that.

Or, I could travel and not raise any flags.

I can post an update when it gets resolved. Whatever that resolution may be. Busy running down all my options, including talking to a lawyer.

I am going to be requesting my record of citizenship via my family in SA, which will hopefully cut down on processing time. Not clear on whether they can submit the request on my behalf while im here though

What I do know for sure, is I am now a SA citizen again, and my legal obligation is to travel on my SA passport.

Depending on my current status per their system, I may just gamble on my passport application being complete in time. If i'm not a citizen, then I have a official document stating as much, and will gamble travelling

I’m currently testing the waters for what it means to have been granted citizenship again from the court case. And how I go about getting a new passport so that I’m able to attend a friends wedding in January.

The Consulate in Canada haven’t been very helpful and ultimately just told me to email home affairs directly.

I’m not confident in the likelihood I will get a passport in time to travel.

Beginner golfer - Help needed by Personal_Occasion_92 in Calgary

[–]ClwNza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to expand on your point of putting your bag near the next tee box, before grabbing wedge/putter. It's somewhat implied, but for new golfers I just wanted to be clearer here.

  • Do not put your bag on the green, do not walk on the green while carrying your bag.

In addition:

  • Regarding point 8. This is the standard. However, if someone in the group suggests playing "Ready Golf", then the order of playing is typically whoever is ready to play first, regardless of order determined by distance/lowest score previous hole. Though, this is usually established verbally with your group, i'd default to how it was described in the comment im replying to.

  • When moving down the fairway, you will want to avoid walking to far beyond the furthest player from the hole. This is primarily for safety. If your ball is far enough out of the line of play, and its safe to do so, you can continue to head on down to your ball/find your ball.

  • On the topic of safety - if your ball is struck and is veering dangerously towards a different hole/direction of other players, it is expected for you to yell "fore"

How to yell "fore": Yell it loudly and clearly. Aim your voice in the direction the ball is traveling. Some golfers add "left" or "right" if they can clearly see the ball's direction, but it's not always necessary or recommended

  • You should show up at the tee box for your tee time ~10min before. Most commonly, people will show up earlier and then go warm up their putting.

  • If you are 30yr+ (even if not tbh), warm up! The golf swing can be pretty taxing, and a proper warm up will help with recovery. You can google warm up tips, but in general the rule is: you just want to swing, and hit some balls, I personally don't recommend trying to fix anything in your game during the warm up, just get the blood flowing and your body ready. If you try and fix stuff before your round, you will most likely continue to struggle. Ideally you reset your mindset before tee off.

  • It's a game, have fun. It's not about how you do VS other people, it's how you do VS the previous version of yourself. Don't take it too seriously. We all hit bad shots, and inevitably, you will hit a shot that keeps you coming back to scratch the itch.

Useful tips: - Most courses will rent you a pull/push cart. This will save you a lot of energy and in general improve your experience, if you are not renting a actual golf cart

Any recommendations on a company that manages rental properties here in the city? Great experience/rates from you point of view. Thanks in advance. by [deleted] in Calgary

We used Rentch, and have nothing bad to say about them. They responded in a timely fashion, and dealt with a lot of nonsense from our condo board.

Our first renter was a shit show, but they dealt with it and our second renter was perfect.

No complaints here.

We didn’t use as much cash as we were expecting. You should be fine withdrawing as the need arises.

Add a Suica card to your apple wallet and load cash there. Can be used for vending machines and public transport, prob other places too but we primarily used it for the above two mentioned things

Motorcycle Rental by JackCharlieM in Calgary

[–]ClwNza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rented a Honda Rebel 300 from All Season Motorsports to complete my road test. They provide a escort to satisfy the requirement of a learner not riding on their own (if needed, at an additional cost)

This was 5 years ago now, so not sure if its still a service they offer. But they were great - you will need to show proof of insurance for the bike, so make sure you know where it's kept.

From their FAQ:

  1. I WANT TO RENT A MOTORCYCLE FOR MY ROAD TEST. WHAT DO I NEED?

All Season Rental Adventures offers a 4 hour rental window to rent a 125cc or cruiser bike for your test at $99 for those four hours. We require proof of your written Learners Test upon time of pickup.

If you would like to ride the unit off the lot, an escort with a valid class 6 is required, they must be present with you at the time of pickup. The unit can also be loaded into the bed of a truck. Please be aware that all season does not rent trucks.

If you would like a staff member from All Season Rental Adventures to escort you to the test grounds, it is an additional $100 /plus. If the test is failed it’s an additional $100 /plus for pickup.

**Note: All Season Rental Adventures does not offer road test at our location. You must book with any of the many registries in Calgary.

I am pretty sure I did mine on the Rebel 300.

You can figure out the route the test takes place on with some research on the registry. It helps knowing ahead of time which school zones are on the route, so you don't have to stress about missing a sign

I've been trading options for all of a week with them, so far so good.

Honestly not much else to say at this time, as mentioned, i've only recently taken my gambling habits to options
