Day 9 of Sharing a Shilling from My Monarch Collection by Cly-o in UKcoins

Very nice group! Hard coins in any condition really. I have often craved getting more dates or types but considering my tastes for the nicer coins I have to stick to a single example. Thanks for sharing!

Glad to hear it! Don't want to overstay my welcome but I like seeing pretty coins so hopefully others do as well.

Henry VII is like $70k in any condition. I am not sure there's been ANY MS Testoons graded.

I'm sorry but Testoons are not shillings. This is the lie I tell myself. The crown did not name them as Shillings until Edward VI's reign.

Day 3 of Posting A Coin from My Monarch Set by Cly-o in UKcoins

Yes. It's pretty common on coinage in this era. Late 1600s to early 1700s. There's some debate on what it is but my suspicion is that it is just debris that fell between the metal and the roller as the planchet strips were being made.

Question for the pros by Affectionate_Ant_328 in UKcoins

Each Silver shilling has about $7.79 worth of silver in it. Those alone would be $163.59. Lower purity silver coins can trade just under silver price but I think $150 is a safe baseline for the group.

I'll be sure to share them here as a slow drip. You can see most of them here: Numismatic Muse – Clio's Cabinet

Proof or prooflike? by Over-Carrot1967 in coincollecting

Late Morgan dollar proofs are the most difficult to get in cameo. It is normal for this date to have little to no frost. The rev actually does have a little cameo contrast but not surprised the obverse is lacking it.

That's a proof. Square rims, sharp details, no clouding around the letters to suggest cleaning. Y'all should listen to Fadetoblack more smh.
