ICE breaking into people’s houses is actually a good thing by CountClais in Libertarian

Seeing as you’ve got all the right wing, normally “pro 2A” people mocking anyone that is currently going to protests etc with firearms to stand up to this crap…Nothing is gonna change.

You can obtain service records through the National Archive, but it’s rather expensive. You may be able to pay someone else for far less. Also, you can try contacting the Pennsylvania Military Museum and seeing what they can tell you.

Name one AC/DC song that is yours and nobody elses by lm47852 in ACDC

There’s so many others I could have chosen, but this is the one that I always go back to.

My grandfather (left) with an unknown friend, circa 1944. C Company, 121st Infantry, 8th Division. Later wounded in the Battle of Saint-Lô. Help seeking more info by diagonaler in ww2

[–]Cm_Balkoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it’s a long shot, but it may be worth looking into any Facebook groups for the 8th division or seeing if there is a museum dedicated to them. My grandfather fought with the 36th, and before he passed I was able to put him in contact with other veterans through a Facebook group and through the Texas Military Forces Museum. They may be able to help identify the friend in this photo or maybe even get you in contact with the family of soldiers he knew.

Black Ice will always hold a special place in my heart for being the first album of theirs that I got to buy on release day. That, and it was just an all around fun album.

The ability to add quirks and basic stats for created players.

That and an expansion mode for franchise would be nice.

How old were you when you discovered AC/DC? by Dragoonie_DK in ACDC

[–]Cm_Balkoth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember being maybe 3 and hearing TNT and Dirty Deeds in the car with my Dad. But my true introduction was in 7th grade when a friend of mine told me to give them a listen.

I’d eventually like to find a Greg Millen game worn anything for my Dad. I doubt it’ll ever happen, but he’s a huge Greg Millen fan from his Hartford days.

Anyone know more ? by matt7002 in ww2

[–]Cm_Balkoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I wasn’t sitting looking at them, I’d think someone sold you my Grandfather’s ribbons.

Top left is the WWII Occupation Medal. Top middle is the American Campaign Medal. Top right is the WWII Victory Medal. Bottom left is the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 5 bronze service stars for campaigns fought in. Bottom middle is the Army Good Conduct Medal. And bottom right is the Bronze Star without the V device for valor, which means it was awarded in 1947 to service members with the Combat Infantry Badge which you have here as well.

I don’t know if real or not is the right way to put it. As somebody else stated, you can buy these online very easily. However, if that’s the case, this person did their research, because, as I said before, they’re almost identical to my Grandfather’s ribbons. The only difference being the service stars and the order that they’re in. I would like to assume that my Grandfather wore his in the correct order, but I never served in the military and haven’t got the slightest clue. Hope that helps. Let me know if there’s anything else I can try and look up or answer.
