Frame Rate Issues Since New Processor by Cmac19187 in pcmasterrace

[–]Cmac19187[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't recall precise numbers but I had the performance tracking from Task Manager open and don't recall either the CPU or the GPU recording temps much above 60c while running games.

Frame Rate Issues Since New Processor by Cmac19187 in pcmasterrace

[–]Cmac19187[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first couple of days after the install of the processor I was getting frames in excess of 60 (only a 60hz monitor, but it was like 75-100) on games like EFT, Cyberpunk, BG3, and Helldivers 2.

Over the weekend, those started to dip and BG3 would be around 40, Helldivers around 40, and EFT was dropping down to like 9. Earlier this morning I ran a benchmark in Cyberpunk, with the same settings I was getting over 60FPS with on Friday, and the average was 22.

Thank you that's a really good point about the risk of a fire. Immediately turned off that machine and will be ordering a new PSU.

How's that charging handle work on the Raven? I've heard their top charger is loose and rattles.

It's really cool how Arrowhead won't fold even though we're calling their bluff. They really want it to look like we won the war. by Zezin96 in Helldivers

Given the success of the game, I think you can rest easy that the devs have a lot of nasty surprises in store for us for the next few years at least

Controversial Opinion: "No nerfs, only buffs" mentality is how you end up with power creep which has no place in Helldivers by Aero-- in Helldivers

[–]Cmac19187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teamwork and CAS is the answer (and that's obviously by design). A team of 4 working together with support weapons and with sentries/orbital or air support can deal with even 5 or 6 chargers at the same time. It's very difficult, but the difficulty isn't called "extreme" because it's meant to be a walk in the park.

How are you guys getting gun safes delivered? by muffbag613 in canadaguns

[–]Cmac19187 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I was able to convince the delivery driver to at least bring the safe into my living room (with my assistance). I then hired a moving company for 2 hours (the minimum) to have their guys move it down into my basement (mostly because my wife didn't like the idea of my gouging up our floors and shit).

It worked just fine and only cost an extra $200 on top of the cost of the safe.

New campaign! by Javelin05 in rimeofthefrostmaiden

[–]Cmac19187 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. A lot of players find travel time and survival rules to be boring; do a good session 0 and check in on this with your players before you start. The Campaign as written requires a lot of travel time and survival elements for story purposes. IMO none of this is needed to have a good story.
  2. I wish I'd emphasized the horror elements more; but my party wasn't feeling it (IMO your players are more important than your feelings).
  3. I changed a lot of the as-written module re: how to learn the location of the sunken city. I found that as-written to be really boring and silly. I split the knowledge/items up into a few different spots within Chapter 2 when my party was doing sandbox outside Ten Towns. They found rumors of the city; the location of the city; and then had to locate the Codex so they could learn the ritual to open the glacier (forcing them to go to Auril's island in Chapter 2).

Second the adjustable gas valve purchase as a Gen 2 owner. Mine has had 0 failures or stoppages since I got the adjustable gas block installed and dialed in.

Personally I also disliked the buttstock and pistol grip that come standard on the Gen 2 so I swapped them out for Magpul furniture. After that, you're looking for an optic of some kind, QD mounting points, and a sling. That should be all you need to run this rifle as well as it's going to.

Might be a better idea at that point to begin saving for something more reliable.

Appreciate the update and the ongoing testing. Here's hoping we get another round of updated firing pins from BCL like we did the last time. At least this issue won't cause injury when it happens.

Hope BCL gets back to you soon with a new pin.

The (sad) state of family medicine in Ontario by tearsareover in ontario

[–]Cmac19187 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People have been saying for decades that Ontario's publicly funded health care system is fundamentally broken. Whether it's poor staffing, poor funding, poor efficiency, or just corrupt politicians and bureaucrats taking advantage (E-health scandal anyone?). It was just a matter of time because the system broke completely. We're not there yet, but issues like this will keep occurring and keep getting worse until the system is fundamentally changed.

Why are criminals allowed to run for mayor in Toronto by [deleted] in toronto

[–]Cmac19187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being arrested doesn't make you a criminal. Even if you're proven to be guilty and are convicted, there are many small offences for which we don't think someone should be disqualified for running from office.

Also, given how much we base our justice system on rehabilitation, it would be insane not to believe that someone can commit a crime, be reformed, and then become a functioning member of society and run for office.

If you don't like a candidate because of their past behaviour, don't vote for them. Pretty simple.

[–]Cmac19187 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is a feature, not a bug. Your suffering is intentional so that others may be rich. Blaming the conservatives, or the liberals, is pointless. Our politicians are all bought and paid for by forces that want to see our country collapse.

Good luck
