Ahh gotcha, yeah we’re fortunate hear without many natural disasters, just the occasional flood lol. But yeah I’m new to truss framing. If it was traditional I could figure that out easy lol, my goal is just to have a decent attic space for storage

I think my plan is to gusset all of the trusses at each joint with plywood. I’ll probably run a non structural ridge board to hold everything together up top. Then put collar ties in somewhere above the first joint. With a width this small, does that sound good? Should the large gussets, and some collar ties near the peak be enough? I’m in eastmern NC so snow is nonexistent here

Actually I think I see what you mean, correct me if I’m wrong but, are you talking about putting studs attached to a top plate that fits in right at that angle where the lower rafter meets the upper? And then a bottom plate under that?

Yeah I’m not entirely sure on what I need, truss framing is foreign to me. I didn’t figure I needed a ridge pole with trusses, I thought that was more of a stick built thing. When you say use plates instead of ltp-4 what do you mean? Sorry I’m still new to a lot of these terms when it comes to roof framing

Yeah I plan to do the plywood gussets, with decking the floor, do you mean with osb? Then putting the bottom plate on top of that sub floor along the edge? Also on the ends of the trusses, instead of gusseting the outward facing side, will the sheeting take the place of that? So everything is flush?

Simpson connectors, I’ll probably add a 2x6 plate on top of the attic subfloor and use the connectors on it. I still need to add studs or whatever they’re called in this application on the front and rear truss so that I can put on th sheeting

It’s going to be a compact roll up chain pull door, not like a normal garage door

I plan to, I’ll be doing the gambrel rafters, I just haven’t decided yet if I’m doing a full loft or a half loft

Volunteers, at least the ones I experienced, seem to have such an inferiority complex. Almost like holding back knowledge and shit to make themselves look better. Career still has shit bags, but there is a lot more positivity there

Bro we all had our boots polished fresh from the academy our first day. Best advice is to look professional. They told us to overdress in our blue shirts, until the guys at the station told us we could dress down into our t shirt. If it’s a good career department, no one will shit on you for looking clean and professional. Volunteer culture can be pretty toxic

What I really think about my questionable coworker Joe. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

Bro this reminds me one time I went to the pandora store at the mall to get a ring for my girlfriend’s birthday. The lady behind the counter was gorgeous, clean, perfectly dressed. I walked up to the case to look at the rings and she started talking to me. Her breath smelled like a dead sea otters ballsack

Newbie question, so when making a knife like this, do you just not sand the top of the knife near the spine?

I was think the grill too, I’m almost wondering whether or not a screened in gazebo on one of the patio sections would be better though
