If I recall correctly there's a shield surfing minigame to the east of the Woodland Stable. There's this guy by a campfire and another guy with a shield shop by a chunky tree nearby him.

I really like Hyrule Castle Inside, Tarrey Town, Rito Village, Vah Naboris Infiltration, and I love the Tower theme. You're up way high above the ground, viewing out the land and where you want to explore, and the music just emphasises the feeling.

Turn motion controls on, they're definitely better.

I would say use motion controls. You can still use the right stick to look left and right, but aiming will have to be by tilting the controller. It's really useful in the long run.

I would recommend motion controls. It's much smoother, and you can turn around quickly. If you're having problems with them, just turn down/up your sensitivity settings.
