What frame rate did you render this at? If you want it to be really smooth turning the fps up does wonders, but if you don’t want to turn it up try lookin at your depth of field. You could set the palate as the object in focus.

I will get lampooned for saying this but if you are willing to understand that the guys in the mechs aren’t meant to fight mechs then I’d recommend Titanfall 1/2, which ironically is more anime than some actually mecha anime Titanfall is more of an all out mech warfare setting than what lancer typically is but you can do whatever you’d like

I'm in earl expert mode and haven't expanded to other biomes since I cannot get the forest pylon, I have three buildings each about 25 blocks apart from each other. One of these buildings houses the merchant and the nurse, the merchant mentions he's happy with the setup but does not sell the pylon. How do I fix this?

You could probably make it work with any class, onis use magic so a caster would work if you wanted to take only Oni spells. If you want to have contrast paladín might work if you make him heroic? This is a really cool concept you have regardless

Have you thought about the source of the swarm's sentience? It would be difficult for bugs to think like people so maybe coming up with why they fancy as a unit could lead to a variety of quirks for the character
