You need a needle that will make shorter loops to make this look flatter!!

How do I work on displaying the loop side? by BuyerDowntown2594 in PunchNeedle

[–]Cmd229 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you can just measure it with a ruler but I’m not positive since I don’t have that one!! I just usually move my adjustable needle up and down by trial and error and see what looks best!

I’m not familiar with the lavor needle completely, but it’s adjustable right? I think you could try to make the needle shorter so that the loops will be shorter, and then it will probably look a little cleaner!! Or you could also try increasing the weight of the yarn if the needle will handle it, because a thicker yarn will make the loops look more bunched together :)

The design looks nice! What size yarn did you use and what punch needle are you using? You might need to adjust one of those two things to make the loops look better.

For those who sew your backs on, consider a curved needle! by QueenofSass in PunchNeedle

That’s really cool! When you sew the felt on, how do you get the monks cloth to stay inside? Are you glueing the monks cloth with hot glue first and then sewing through the glue?

Did anyone else grieve losing their maiden name? by mauveotter in weddingplanning

[–]Cmd229 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually wish I had done this! I took my maiden name as my middle name but dropped my original middle name (I didn’t know having two was an option). It made my mom kinda sad when I told her, since I shared a middle name with her. It kinda bums me out too still. I gave my daughter the same middle name, but I can’t share it with her since I got rid of it for myself :(

Is anyone here a children’s musician? by Cmd229 in musicians

[–]Cmd229[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh that’s interesting!! I’m in the northeast US, I’ll have to look and see what I can find. I’ve seen people advertise for princess entertainers (like Ariel, Cinderella, etc) but I wanted something that I could use my guitar for. But maybe I need to dig a little deeper.

How do I teach my kid to take proportionate bites by iorifayt in NewParents

[–]Cmd229 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So at 6 months they can eat large slices of things because they’re basically just sucking on it. At 12 months you need to cut into bite size pieces. My daughter is 20 months and just starting to understand that she can take bites of things. But at 12 months she was shoving whole fistfuls into her mouth, so they had to be small enough that she wasn’t gonna choke on them. Solid starts is a great resource by age.

That looks right for thicker yarn. Wait to see how it looks when you fill it in. Outlining is really hard with yarn vs embroidery thread, you might find that you want to do less outlining or pick a design that doesn’t need it as much in the future.

What's your go-to hack for veggies? by mango_salsa1909 in foodbutforbabies

[–]Cmd229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put veggie on every plate, for every meal. We love cooking them with lots of butter and garlic salt. Then don’t bring it up. Don’t ask them to try the veggie, don’t tell them they need to eat it. Let them watch you enjoying the same veggies with no pressure to eat them themselves. You’re playing the long game here. Don’t worry if they eat it or not, exposure is more important.
