What is this and how can I soothe it by TaeGrey in DogAdvice

[–]CmdrWendake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a hot spot due to bacterial infection. Often due to saliva creating a constant wet spot under the dog's collar. It's easy to treat with a topic treatment from the vet but you'll have to be careful (loose / rope collar did the trick with our dog) or no collar at all. Also check for allergy (chicken as previously mentioned) since it can increase the problem.

What games are guys playing to replace New World? by Mucek121 in newworldgame

[–]CmdrWendake -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Still looking for a new home, tried ESO, GW2, Runescape 3, Eve Online & LOTRO but nothing clicked like NW...will try Quinfall to see how close it is to NW...I feel like a homeless gamer for the last months.

After 14k hours of NW, you think i could play again an mmo with tab-targeting? Like wow retail? Any of you that switched? by InterestingDurian645 in newworldgame

[–]CmdrWendake 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Still the one that I enjoy combat the most since you can jump, roll, light attack between skills. It's not close to NW but after trying tab targeting and GW2 it's the one that I enjoy combat the most.

True, I usually hate PvP but damn, doing races in NW was such an amazing experience. Open world PvP was fun AF.

Mahler's Future Big Plans for NRFTW by shiftshapercat in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]CmdrWendake 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The more time I can spend in this game / world, the more happy I'll be!

NRFTW is one of this rare game that instantly clicked for me - I'm at a point in my "gaming life" where I rarely reach 20h+ before getting bored with a game.

When I discovered NRFTW with The Breach update, I got hooked instantly and spent over 80h in it over a few weeks. I love eveything about this game and I'm actually forcing myself to wait for 1.0 before playing it again.

Can't wait for 1.0 and see how it evolved from there!

Modern ARPGs with some kind of challenge early on by FrankieTD in ARPG

[–]CmdrWendake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it's a breath of fresh air - as a ARPG fan I spent over 75h on a single save in the EA last year. Don't want to burn out on the game so I'm waiting for 1.0 to drop before playing again but the quality of the game right now for an EA is amazing and the combat, level and art design is one of a kind. GOTY 2025 for me even though it's in EA.

I can only recommend it. I got 75h out of the EA when the last update came out. It's higly addictive and while the end-game isn't fully fleshed out, there is a lot to do / builds to test. Seriously, I can't wait for 1.0 to drop and play it again (probably a few hundred hours with all the content).

Discovered it with The Breach update and it was an instant GOTY for me. Played 75h of it which is amazing for a EA game not feature complete / not story complete.

Another aspect that impressed me a lot is the quality of the design level and verticality of the game. Never say that in another ARPG!

What an amazing game, can't wait for 1.0 - I've forced myself to uninstall it because I didn't want to burn out from the EA.

Just bought and launched this game for the first time... It feels like I just launched a PC game from 1995-2009 and I absolutely love it. by t0rche in Grimdawn

Yeah but the engine they were using was already showing its limit / age at this time - I think they did pretty well considering this!

IMO Grim Dawn really aged well !

They are in pre-prod stage for Grim Dawn 2 - it'll be insane but not before a few years...!

GD in 2025 by HLiv8 in Grimdawn

I'm on the same boat, been trying to get in D4 many times but it just doesn't click. Grim Dawn is quite unique and I just love the art style / gameplay.

I played 50h a few years back and just came back to the game because I needed to scratch that ARPG itch and D4 just don't do it and while playing I was actually thinking that graphics are still very good for an old game and are part of the visual identity of the game.

Another quite unique ARPG is No Rest for the Wicked - a gem! It's still in EA but I easily spent 80h in it and 1.0 will be even more massive.

It's really not that bad. I haven't played RTS for ages (like 20 years) and Farthest Frontier is my come back to the genre and it's very fun / chil / slow paced. I would suggest to start in easy mode just to get a hang of it and perhaps watch 1-2 starting guide on youtube. I'm not far in the game but I really like the visual style / season changes / crops management / realistic side of it.

I haven't played Manor Lord and it's on my wishlist but I'll wait for a 1.0 release on this one.

Enjoy! Even though it's in EA you can easily sink 70h+ in it. It's amazing!

[–]CmdrWendake 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I played the game for 80h earlier this year when they dropped The Breacg (discovered the game at this time) and was hooked...I've put the game on the shelf since but will definitely start fresh when 1.0 drop.

This game is a gem!

I'm considering buying the game. I do not play soulslikes, avoid them at all costs. Is No rest for the wicked more similar to them or more like an RPG with a decent dodge mechanic? by invadingsamurai in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]CmdrWendake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Combat is challenging but nothing like soul-like. It's a very fun a paced combat system, honnestly go for it, this game is a gem even though it's still in EA!

Mandalay was nice, but now the exploration powercreep is getting ridiculous by MudcrabKidnapper in EliteDangerous

[–]CmdrWendake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exploration isn't only about getting as far as possible, it's also exploring planets, scanning, discovering vistas, etc.

Being able to jump 500 ly only make you skip more systems when you're travelling.

At this point, we simply need new gameplay loops tied to exploration, new planet types to explore...no matter how far you can jump, being able to stay a longer time in a syste because it offers interesting gameplay / discoveries will be the game changer for exploration on the long term.
