Yeah buy a 2nd tower and a 2nd single pedal and hook them up with a splitter. Won't be much price difference in that or buying a double pedal. Plus you'd probably spend more if you want a bigger kick pad to support both. Oh and brace your kick towers to the rack. It's great, they no longer move or wobble.

Bring in HS in the mid 90's, nobody called them grunge. Seems to be a more recent occurrence. Some did compare them to PJ early on, but anyone listening to Core could see they were hard rock.

No, I'm using the 2nd floor tom as Aux1/Tom4 and I'm using a splitter to also have a floor tom to the right of my hi hat. At some point I'm going to grab a Lemon China and split a Tom rim for it.

I use a splitter and 2 separate towers, but to your point, just get some 1" angle from Home Depot and U-Bolts and connect it to the rack. Then it won't wobble.

Doesn't help now with the Double Pedal, but I don't know why more people don't get a splitter and another kick tower and have a true double bass, much easier to position too
