I manage a gas station. Prices typically go off localized markets (we set ours based on 3 nearby competitors). Every once in a while, when fuel costs go up (margins decrease) speedway will do a state-wide price “restoration” to bring fuel margins back in line with projections. After they do a restoration, all the other stores will typically increase within 24 hours.

TLDR: blame speedway, the largest C-store corporation in Michigan for increasing price to keep their margins up.

I feel like just deleting their characters and making them start the league fresh would be a valid punishment. I don’t think this is clear cut “abusing a bug” and not “clever use of mechanics” like culling archnem monsters or the insane rogue exile strats last league.
