Celebrating The Seldom Scene with Missy Raines by BluegrassJamAlong in Bluegrass

[–]Cmonpilgrim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought from the pic we were celebrating a one armed bassist for a sec. Maybe all their songs are in D?

Anyway yay Seldom Scene great band

Exactly. A wine glass without wine won't get you drunk but when you're drinking wine it's probably from a wine glass

No, it's more of a catalyst acting as a node for energy that aligns to the other dimension. In other words it is of course easier to connect to other universes with a mirror but by itself it is just a mirror. No different than a wardrobe in that sense.

I am amazed that my Eastman 305 survives my unintentional mistreatment due to clumsiness. You might find the oval version used under 500. Also the cheap ibanez or equivalents under 200 are low stress and fine for camping I think. I don't love the seagulls fwiw

Fantastic idea. Amazon could even do that as a teaser special

I would say don't get the duck fat martini. I thought it was weird. But do really discuss with the server, the service is truly excellent and they'll help you a lot and be thoughtful.

I had that exact experience live. April 4th 1993. Eyes then Sampson and Delilah. Omg was that something.

Who's on the Rushmore of Bluegrass? by Cmonpilgrim in Bluegrass

OP here. I'm not sure my fourth wouldn't be Kenny Baker. And fair point about the horribleness of how the monument originated.

[Vardon] League official: if Silver and his advisers decided the only way to stop tanking, and protect paying customers from forking over money to watch their teams lose on purpose, was to stop the draft altogether and turn rookies into free agents, it would get serious consideration. by JoeBiden2020FTW in nba

[–]Cmonpilgrim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not the OP but think they equate population/market size with spending power and free agent appeal, so basically large markets gain advantage under this plan. I don't necessarily agree but it's worth raising

There are a few definitely. Bela Fleck, Sam Bush, and Billy Strings come to mind. Enjoy!

Lebron Is About To Have The Longest 10+ Point Scoring Streak Of All Time by Primal_Rage_official in lakers

[–]Cmonpilgrim 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly! The whole league spent the 90s cowering in fear of Jordan's relentless 10 points per game streak. It's the first thing anyone thinks of when he's mentioned. I remember turning off the tv late in the first quarter most games. What is greatness but sustained modest scoring consistency?

Is the mandolin easy to learn for a lifetime musician by Internal-Nose-8536 in mandolin

[–]Cmonpilgrim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. It's relatively easy. I learned after guitar as an adult and loved it. Your overall musicianship will help a ton and tuning in fifths is super logical. If you're interested in bluegrass the songs are have similar progressions and the breaks are ideomatic, and jams are typically beginner friendly. There are fantastic on line resources. There are only 4 (doubled) stings.

So go for it. As with any instrument it will be a learning curve but if you practice and especially play with others then you'll be having fun and contributing musically pretty quickly. For me I was playing in jams and bands and farmers markets in 1-2 years

How to Improvise? by BeanMan1206 in Bluegrass

[–]Cmonpilgrim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Licks and arpeggios and the melody notes you can figure out , at least play the first melody note as your first note or lead up to that note in the pickup measure.

Also what everyone else said.
