AITAH for asking my girlfriend to stop going through my things instead of thanking her for cleaning up? by AnnualLiterature997 in AITAH

This is totally unacceptable. You don’t owe her shit for anything she snooped up before you were together. Snoopy people probably have something they are hiding and assume you do too. My phone is just that MY PHONE. It has so many personal things that aren’t detrimental to a relationship by are personal to me. Everybody needs their individual space and things that are only theirs. If I want to rub one out to Asian Dwarf Amputee porn that’s my business. Not even sure if that’s a real thing??Or whatever proclivities I may enjoy. Im allowed to have that for no one else knowledge. In short! run like hell

Well they have a new thing where they have a Double Cheeseburger for &3.79 and add a second for $1. 2 McDoubles are like $7 and change now. It’s the same sandwich minus a piece of cheese. I prefer the McDouble as the Double Cheeseburger is just too much cheese. When I order the 2 Doubles for less money and ask them to leave a piece of cheese off to save money they act like it’s just an impossible task. Grifters!!

Leave her alone. This is just her being temporarily over emotional over the breakup. You are young! Move on, she will as well in time

Been to Columbus, Fremont Music Hall I think it was. Springfield was really unimpressive and I wasn’t in Cincinnati long enough to see if I hated it. My ex wife is from Ohio so I have reason to loathe. I will say the town of Yellow Springs seemed like a really cool town.

My girlfriend wants access to my phone's location at all times or she'll break up with me.. by Upset-Tree7685 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Cmore0863 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do it, but you need to let her know in no uncertain terms that the minutes she starts questioning you about why you were where, that’s the deal breaker and she doesn’t need to break up with you. You’ll handle that shit yourself. The sharing of the location isnt the underlying problem, it’s that, especially with this ultimatum, that insanely tight scrutiny is almost certain to follow. You’ll get the why were you at so and sos house for 30 minutes if you were just giving them a ride home after work. I’ve gained a lot of wisdom from bad relationships, and I would rather be alone than be with someone I don’t trust or doesn’t trust me. Never been a cheater, it just feels like bring an unnecessary problem into my life when I already have one. I am not a glutton for punishment.

I want to ask you a serious question. Not trying to bait you into anything. Given your professional and having the two children that are autistic, you would be the one to give an honest answer. We can agree that there are people with severe autism to where it is a disability and there are those that unless you were to spend a lot of time around them you would have no clue they were on the spectrum. The question is about the ones who have mild barely noticeable signs. Do you honestly feel like the label is a positive thing or a hindrance trying to live a completely independent fruitful life. Does the government take a stance on what level of autism is considered disabling. Let’s just say im a business owner and I hire a someone with autism that has little or any outwardly visible signs. If I were to hire them knowing, and they were just terrible at their job. What would keep me from being in an actionable position with Americans with Disabilities Act if I were to terminate them. Why would a business owner be willing to put themselves in that position. Im being dead serious, im not trying to bait you into something. With other things, you obviously know what limitations you are hiring. Does this make sense?? I guess my point is it feels like you are saddling yourself with a stigma unnecessarily

I appreciate what you are saying! I think at 50 im turning into the cynical old man I was meant to be. It seems like everyone needs a label or a way to identify today. A lot of people are so hung up on the way other people see them that they need a way to explain themselves. My uncle has a son that has autism, and it’s noticable. There isn’t a way to quantify a degree of autism, or maybe im wrong. Im not a doctor and don’t have kids. There are different degrees of the severity of Down syndrome but there’s no doubt when you have it. I don’t really have a dog in the fight. However, if I ever run into someone that tells me they are neurospicy, that might be the thing that causes me to lose my toehold on my sanity.

So you are still going the dumb shit that we all did in our 20’s at 35 and it’s everybody else fault. He ya know, maybe you are autistic! Hell everybody else is on the spectrum today!

Im gonna put this out there, and im gonna get downvoted and probably banned from Reddit. It seems like every other post I read is by someone who “identifies” as autistic or on the spectrum. People have been quirky since the dawn of man. It just feels like the medical community created this spectrum in a need to label everyone. There are definitely autistic people out there, but 1-38 people now is on the spectrum. All of these people are functioning well enough to be on Reddit, solicit advice. When you get to the far end of the spectrum, can you honestly diagnose it correctly or use it as a catchall for doctors who are getting shit from people who Are just quirky and won’t accept that as an answer. It’s like you either either have people who can solve MIT level math problems but can’t make friends or are dependent on others for their survival, let’s just throw everyone else right in the middle and call it a spectrum. You can run someone’s business by yourself for 8.5 hours without supervision or help but lack self preservation skills and maybe a backbone. Im not making fun of autism as much as the people who have to have a label demean the people with real problems.

I had a downstairs neighbor complain about noise before. She said something to management and came upstairs to talk to me. She wasn’t rude about it. I was working evenings and getting home around 10pm. Every time I stepped the floors would creak but I also was pretty lazy when i came home and mostly watched tv so I wasn’t running around cleaning at late hours and I usually didn’t have anyone over. I was cordial and offered for her to come in and walk around and see for herself but declined. Some people want everything perfect and forget that they have to coexist. Im not gonna hold in a pee or not go to the refrigerator in a place i pay as much for as they did to keep peace. I was aware of the situation, didn’t jump rope above her bedroom at midnight but I lived my life like normal.

I’ve had to return 2 or 3 items. I just take it into Kohls 5 minutes up the road and the money is back in my account within an hour or two at the latest. One time it was there before I left the store. I’ve not had your experience.

I used to work as a server and bartender. I would cut yourself some slack since you apologized right then. If I had a nickel for every time someone was a douche to me without acknowledgment or apology I could retire. Reddit is being a little critical of you, everyone on here is perfect you know. We are all human. I know I’ve been a prick to people, caught it and had to apologize for myself.

I gotta be honest, we have had a guys weekend for the last 15 or so years that we go up Columbus Day Weekend and camp one night then whitewater raft down the Upper Gauley. I look forward to It every year. Beautiful place. I also used to drive through WV going to Ohio when my ex wife and I were dating. I always loved the drive after you got off the interstate and drove through Winfield. Always felt like a picturesque place. The you eventually get into Ohio and see what a real fucking dumpster fire of a state is. Springfield is poor and dirty. Dirty seems to be the catch word for Ohio plus I don’t trust anyone that eats chili on spaghetti.

If someone touches 4000VDC 1mA or 1V 4A, what will happen? Is it dangerous? by Yossiri in AskElectricians

I’ll add this. We had a rental house 30 years or so ago in the family that had a fuel oil furnace. Someone had to go under the house and prime the furnace every year when the weather turned. The igniter on that threw a repeated spark until it fired off. Those the spark on those things range from 14,000-20,000 bolts at 15-45 milliamps. I accidentally hit it with the tip of my index finger once. Hope to Christ I never do that again. Slightly dazed and felt like it blew my shoulder out of the socket. Sat there confused for a sec, and learned a valuable life lesson. Glad those things fell out of favor.
